About this listen

Audie Award Nominee, Paranormal, 2013

After being kicked out of the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, Andrea's whole existence is in shambles. She tries to put herself back together by working for Cutting Edge, a small investigative firm owned by her best friend. When several shapeshifters working for Raphael Medrano-the male alpha of the Clan Bouda, and Andrea's former lover-die unexpectedly at a dig site, Andrea is assigned to investigate. Now she must work with Raphael as her search for the killer leads into the secret underbelly of supernatural Atlanta. And dealing with her feelings for him might have to take a back seat to saving the world.

Andrea Nash answers the door and takes charge!

What made the experience of listening to Gunmetal Magic the most enjoyable?

It was Andrea's time to be in the spotlight and this book has her front and center. You get to understand her choices and the reasons why they were made and I cheered her on.

What other book might you compare Gunmetal Magic to and why?

Kate Daniels "Magic" series of which this is a spin off book.

Have you listened to any of Renée Raudman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ms, Raudman read the Magic Series and I am so very glad she was selected for this book too. I think she is exceptional.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when she was able to listen to a recorded message that was made secretly in a meeting with Aunt Bea.

Any additional comments?

I sure hope more books follow in this series.

Great world.....

A really good book. It says something when the secondary characters in a series are good enough to have a book of their own. That's the case here. Andrea and Raphael really were wonderful. I love the Kate Daniels world.

Great narrator. Renee Raudman has done a great job with all these books.

Great book...Andrea kicks butt!

I REALLY liked this book. It only has a few scenes involving Kate but it didn't need that to be good. It's a great story regardless. I was soo glad to get a better look in to Andrea and enjoyed the book very much. If you like the Kate Daniels series you deffinately will want to get this book.

a good addition to the series

It was a good story. Lots of background on the favorite character. Andrea and Rafael's love story is as dramatic as a telenovela

A good fantasy detective story/quest.

The book has a good storyline and moves quickly. There are a few too many instances where the narrator has to imitate sounds and noises, especially at the beginning, but overall I'm glad to have listened.

If you like the Kate Daniels series, you will like

I enjoy urban supernatural fantasy, including the Kate Daniels series. This book immerses you in that world but from the perspective of Kate's friend, Andrea Nash. This book follows the usual formula but does an engaging job of it. It also advances the Andrea Nash character nicely.

The narrator is excellent, as she always is.

Loved this book

Ilona Andrews is one of my favourite authors - I love the characters (flaws and all), and the story is fast paced and interesting. Few authors do world building as thoroughly or with as much depth as Illona Andrew.
Renee Raudman is amazingly talented.

Great story different perspective

The Kete Daniels series just gets better and better. This story is about Kate's best friend Andrea. I love how Ilona Andrews kept this story within the Kate series but separate as well. As the rest of the series, it is has it all - action, humor, romance and a great story line. I've already listened to it twice!

One of my favorites.

So very good in every way. The voices are perfect and the story stands on its own with fantastic visuals.

BullsEye! Andrea's on target!

Would you listen to Gunmetal Magic again? Why?

Ilona and Gordon Andrews are fantastic story tellers. I just reread every book they've written but had missed this one. What a great tale for Andrea and Raphael. I loved seeing the beast lord and Kate again and rally for the Bauda's kick azz attitudes. Shape shifters and magic combust in this tale but I could not put it down. Bravo!

What other book might you compare Gunmetal Magic to and why?

I don't like to compare books but love the premise of this reality of magic and tech. Andrea and Kate have great advantages with multiple skill sets, a must for their world.

Have you listened to any of Renée Raudman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love her! She has a different voice for everyone of Ilona Andrews books that she narrated.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. I am just way to vested in the characters Ilona Andrews creates and I adore Aunt Bea.
