It's easy to feel forgettable. Nyx literally is, and the condition seems to be getting worse. Homeless and alone, she's at the end of her rope when she stumbles onto Earth Between, a nexus between worlds. The residents may be magical and alien, but they don't have any problem remembering she exists.

Though she never intended to become the Guardian of a Waystation between worlds, the gig is pretty simple: act as glorified passport control for the ley lines that connect the planets. But when an illegal traveler slips through her Station, she's given an ultimatum: apprehend him or lose her new job—and the only place she's ever belonged.

Things start looking up when the illegal traveler turns himself in, until Nyx learns he actually came to Earth looking for her. He thinks his best friend—and Nyx's ex-boyfriend—hid the most powerful object in the universe with her: the Harvester of Worlds. Nyx is determined to sort out this intergalactic mess, even if she has to visit the most dangerous planet in the galaxy and rescue her ex-boyfriend to do it.

If she suspects she's been wearing the Harvester of Worlds as a necklace, what's the worst that could come from a power object with a name like that?

Great Story

When I first read it I immediately thought of the Inn Keeper books by Ilona Andrews, but this is not it. It may have been inspired or may not have been but these books in my opinion are completely different.
Anywho, Nyx Fortuna was unbeknownst to her made to be the keeper of a waystation, which is similar to a customs agent. She has an assistant that is a bada*s amazon and a Griffon that is forever by her side. In this first book in the series Nyx finds a place to call home and also a little about herself along with a mysterious necklace that she promised to protect. There is plenty of adventure and friends made along the way and a confrontation with the love that abandoned her. I look forward to the next books.

Nicely done urban fantasy/sci-fi story. Plenty of mystery, action, adventure, and a side of romance. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

Quite an adventure

I wasn't quite sure what to expect of the story, but the author really created a great story base and storyline for the rest of the series. The main character Nix, initially, she was annoying, but she grew to be so much more than I expected. The narrator has a lot to do with making all the characters come alive. Nix really turned out to be a very strong protagonist, embracing the change of her new view on the what is now her life. As much as like Nix, Morgan had me laughing out loud. Totally an easy and enjoyabke story. I am glad I took a chance on it.

I think it was a very good start to a series. There’s lots supremacist like having amnesia and wanting to know your history. Taking in some mysterious powers and having to overcome them, she’s a character with good strength of Will. You definitely feel for the character. I like her. Says a love interest, of course. I think there’s room for her to grow with skills and abilities.

The idea and storyline was fresh and held your interest throughout the story with enough future to make a series out of it. The heroine and her group of people who got bigger and bigger can easily create bonds to what deeper friendships can go. And the adventures are endless for all of them. Thank you
