Publisher's summary

There are expectations of perfection you’ve been conditioned to believe in. You’ll never achieve this perfection, because you are perfectly human. Dr Rebecca Ray will help you understand that there is a workable alternative; somewhere between good and great, a ‘good enough’ that will support you in achieving your biggest dreams, healing the parts of you that hurt, and making the right choices for your best life.

Letting go of perfectionism requires us to transform these patterns of unrelenting expectations into an inner voice of encouragement and accountability. Alter your focus from outcome to process, from winning to trying, from comparison to what’s in alignment with your own path. Break free from the prison of perfectionism and embrace the ‘good enough’ for your self-worth, self-talk, habits, boundaries, and success.

Good, Great, Perfect will help you let go of the pressure to constantly be, have, and do more, but still achieve your goals. Dr Rebecca Ray, writer, speaker and clinical psychologist, has created a motivational and practical step-by-step guide for creating a great life by embracing good enough.

Exactly what I needed to hear

As a self proclaimed perfectionist, Dr. Rebecca Ray told me exactly what I needed to hear in the most gentle and encouraging way possible. I’ve come away from this book with a newfound desire to take action more fearlessly and put my work out into the world without silently judging myself. I’m always consuming Dr. Rebecca Ray’s books, but this one might be my new favorite!

Short and encouraging

Pretty much the same stuff as in other books on overcoming perfectionism, low confidence, imposter syndrome, etc. But a good, short audiobook for someone just starting on self-exploration into these issues.

So true, you don’t need to be perfect to recognize yourself, in this.

I’ve never seen my self as perfect, yet I’ve always been overly concentrating myself, to much.
It rings true. I’m not your perfectionism.

Very helpful

I appreciated the message in this book very much. Listening to it is like having a comforting friend speak to you very compassionately when you are being horrible to yourself. I plan on re-listening often.

podcast turned book...

Sounds like 10 podcast episodes turned into a book. Worth the read. The 2nd half of the book was my favorite part.

It was great, but then you lost me

I really enjoyed this book and listened to it easily in one day, however...it lost me during the last few chapters when she begins talking about her grandfather's death. Yes, death is sad, but wow, the entire tone turned abysmal and I found myself annoyed that this "positive" book has suddenly turned so down trodden. I believe you can discuss death and sadness without sound so incredibly defeated. The second thing in this last parts of the book is she suddenly starts referring to her listerers as "my darlings". As I mentioned before, I was really enjoying this book but suddenly I felt like a forest animal and the book that was solid with great real world examples I could related to, was instandly turned into "fluff". By referring to the listeners as "darlings" I felt it took the book down a couple of notches in my mind. I have a strong personality, so I am sure that there are others that would not even notice this. Again, I did enjoy this book, which is why I rated it as I did despite being thrown off at the end. Great practicallity that I could relate to easily.
