Story
In The Freelance Mindset we discover our illusions about the way we work are just that—stories we make up, or, worse, stories that were made up for us. The current way of work is, in fact, not working for us, but there is another path forward: one that leverages our innate creativity and human need to make a living. Listeners here discover what pulls us toward freelancing, develop tools to meet its challenges, and realize that we can succeed as either freelancers or traditional employees. What we cannot do is go back to seeing the world in the limited nine-to-five way we once did.

Story
Introverts find external stimulation overwhelming, so they look for ways to retreat from it. A situation that’s easy or fun for one person can be way too much for an introvert. That's fine, as long as they have a choice. But that can change when they go to work. Modern working styles like open-plan offices, brainstorming, and teamwork can be really hard on introverts. The hands-on work is okay, but the emotional labor of working with others can be draining.

Story
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Sales is a skill anyone can learn and master - and introverts are especially good at it once they learn how to leverage their natural strengths. Introverts aren't comfortable with traditional tactics like aggressively pushing a product or talking over a customer's objections. That's the beauty of The Introvert's Edge: it doesn't focus on the sale itself but on a sales system that helps introverts feel sincere instead of sales-y.

Loved it!
I've been following Alex for two years now. Found her on TikTok and then on IG. a year ago I took the plunge and quit my job and started to learn a new skill with the advice and encouragement from Alex and a few others.
Like she says in the book this isn't a get rich quick scheme. This is full of practical advice and encouraging pushes to work hard and stay focused.
I highly recommend this book. Thank you Alex 🙌🏻

Awesome motivating and insightful book, just one minor issue…
I’ve followed Alexandra for a little over a year now, She is captivating, direct, stern and commanding while also coming off as extremely welcoming, accessible and warm! Her voice comes off so much through this book, my only complaint is that she didn’t narrate it herself. Having done her own courses, videos and podcasts, it’s silly to think that she wouldn’t be able to read her own words as well!
It would have added extra value as well considering many authors who narrate their own books often go off-script and give extra insight one wouldn’t necessarily get by just reading the books text. Alexandra’s extra insight and personal anecdotes would have been HUGE additions to the listening experience here.
Jenny does a fine job of narrating the book. She’s pleasant to listen to. So nothing on her, except HER tone, doesn’t match Alexandra’s tone and voice that clearly comes through in her writing.
Solid read overall, highly recommend!

No Substance
I would maybe consider this book if I had never looked into doing freelance or a side hustle before. It is very high level and the author doesn’t dive very deep into how she has been successful. She shares a lot of tools, like Fiverr, but I would I benefited more from hearing how she set up her profile or positioned her services on the platform. Instead, she basically makes it sound like she set up her profile and all the projects came rolling in. Not to mention the scams that are or sites like Fiverr and UpWork that you have to weave through in order to be successful.

This book is just a hollow descriptions of the authors path to success and an advertisement for her lifestyle. I recommend this book to specifically writers that have absolutely no sense of entrepreneurship.

Great creator, But the Book lacks depth
I really admire Alexandria Fasulo—she’s fantastic at creating engaging Reels and TikToks about freelancing, and she clearly knows her stuff. However, Freelance Your Way to Freedom felt very surface-level. It’s more of an introductory guide with basic marketing info rather than an in-depth look at freelancing strategies. There weren’t many personal stories or insights that built a deeper connection with the reader, and it didn’t offer any groundbreaking “secrets” beyond general income stream ideas.
If you’re brand new to freelancing, this might be a helpful starting point. But if you already have experience, you may not gain much from it. I was hoping for more depth and storytelling, but it just didn’t quite deliver.
Would love to hear if others felt the same!
