Publisher's summary

Doing well with money isn’t necessarily about what you know. It’s about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together.

In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important topics.

Read it, just read it

This is possibly the best book about money that I’ve ever read. There’s no investment strategies, no stock picks or technical analysis strategies….just knowledge about why and the true backing to finance, the human condition.

Couldn’t stop listening!

Excellent book. I’m not a finance person and don’t really like money talk very much but this book was very informative and interesting.

A must for those looking to pursue more financial opportunities

As someone who is looking for new ways to build wealth, this book helps put things into perspective. A rude awakening for those who have never felt what its like to be rich. I highly recommend.

Saving Money is Hard, but a More Possible Aspiration After Reading

First, I love how Morgan Housel seems like a pretty smart guy, and yet can relay his thoughts in a way that the average person can understand. Second, I love how he takes on an approach to money that anyone can save and grow their wealth by changing their habits and thoughts toward money. He doesn’t outline a grand plan to become wealthy, but rather outlines weaknesses that every human potentially has when it comes to money and how to overcome those weaknesses. I gave the performance 4 stars because while the narrator has a great voice and delivery, whomever edited the audio could have cut out a lot of pauses and deep breaths that felt kind of awkward.

Wonderful and Informative

I loved this book! It really approached investing from a different perspective and opened my mind to the impacts of individual experience on money decisions. Narration was excellent. I'm about to re-listen to it so I can soak up more of the information in this book.
