Publisher's summary

Single mom Hayley Parker has always had to face every parenting challenge on her own - but when her five-year-old son unexpectedly turns into a lion cub, she finds herself with more than she can handle. With her little boy stuck up a tree and yowling for help, the only thing she can think to do is call the fire department....

Ex-firefighter Griffin MacCormick has the heart of a lion and the eyes of an eagle - literally. As a unique shifter with two inner animals, his battling beasts are slowly tearing his body and soul apart. Forced to retire from the elite all-shifter Alpha Team by his degenerative condition, he struggles to be content working as a dispatcher...until one day he takes a call that will change his life.

When Griff meets Hayley, both his lion and his eagle instantly recognize her as their one true mate. But how can he ask Hayley to risk her heart on a dying man, when she's already been abandoned once in the past? And when Hayley's arrogant lion shifter ex unexpectedly reappears on the scene with a horrifying demand, how can Griff protect his mate and her cub?

Fantastic! Worth every credit (bought them all!)

This entire series ("Fire & Rescue Shifters", not to be confused with Chant's "Wildfire" series which I haven't yet tried) is fabulous. The books all have LOL moments, and I had to stop to share bits during one or two of them so many times that I thought my son might strangle me. lol

They CAN be read out of order, but I found them much more enjoyable, even the second time through, IN order. You know a lot more about the relationships between the characters (which ia a big part of the fun), and what their skills and personalities are like. At the end of one I was even in tears form being so happy how it had turned out.

The narrator makes these TWICE as good. Can't wait for her--I hope (crossing fingers)--to do the next in the series.

mannnnnn that was some angst for a hot minute

usually these paranormal/shifter romances are pretty easy to believe in the happily ever after throughout the story... this one gave me pause for a minute. it was good and I enjoyed the dynamic between kiddo and MMC... but yikes does the author throw you some curve balls!

Good story

I liked the story but I wont lie I jumped ahead maybe 2 or 3 times because certain things got repetitive. I would love to hear a continuation of their story centering the lil boy and his new siblings hehehe.
Another thing that erked me was the shifter laws and how they treat women or human women. It was disrespectful especially seeing how she could not decide or do anything without a man.
The narration was done well and I liked the accents

Surprisingly good

Good story, interesting characters. There is drama, but it’s not contrived, and it’s not just people standing in their own way. It got me in the feels several times. I think this is my first time with this author, so I didn’t go into it with any particular expectations. It seems well written for the most part, but there are a few times where I feel like the editor dropped the ball. Similarly, narration was overall good, as far as reading ability and vocal intonation. One star off for the Scottish accent, which was not good at all.

Firefighter Griffin was a great read!

Although, I did cry near the end. It was excellently narrated using the Scottish accent. I will read it again. I can’t read a good story too much. I will read more of the series!

F**k or die! CWs in review

Super cute couple and a fun take on the f**k or die trope. Hailey has a son and he's adorable. There are a few chapters from his PoV and the author nails 5 year old logic. It's hilarious. I deeply appreciated how this ended with a blended family, rather than animosity.

The smut is sweet and vanilla but well written. I mostly skipped it and didn't miss out on any plot.

The love interest is disabled and they work around it during sex, which was so nice to see. The disability does go away via magic by the end of the book, which isn't great. That trope dropped it a star for me. Otherwise these are great.

CW for disability being cured by magic, custody battles over a child

strong characters and a romantic story

I don't usually leave reviews, but I loved the characters in this story, they were fiercely loyal and devoted to each other. Hailey was a bit nieve but very likeable. I think my favorite character was Danny, he was very sweet and perceptive. He seemed to be able to see the true beings of those he cared about. Truly an enjoyable read.

Lion+Eagle

So, it’s got drama but not enough that I wanna chuck my phone across the room. It’s got sexy times and sad times and prob one of the cutest lion cubs ever written! I mean- my heart aches for them for the first x hours and my heart was already aching for Griff. I honestly am just so much sad that there’s (as of today) only one more in the series on audible.
Lucy Rivers is great as always!
