About this listen

New York Times best seller Karin Slaughter brings back her two most fascinating and complex characters - medical examiner Sara Linton and her ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver - in a heart-pounding tale of faith, doubt, and murder....

The victim was buried alive in the Georgia woods - then killed in a horrifying fashion. When Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver stumble upon the body, both become consumed with finding out who killed the pretty young woman. For them, a harrowing journey begins, one that will test their own turbulent relationship and draw dozens of life into the case.

For as Jeffrey and Sara move further down a trail of shocking surprises and hidden passions, neither is prepared for the most stunning discovery of all: the identity of a killer who is more evil and dangerous than anyone could have guessed.

Excellent

I really enjoyed this book. I am originally from Ga. and getting to listen to this narrator made me feel I was right back in the heart of the south. She did a fantastic job with making each character have his or her unique voice.

The story was entriging as well. It made you really feel as if you were there, present with the characters in the book in the woods digging up a grave, or in the room watching the abusive husband beat his wife.

She was perfectly detailed, shedding light on topics that aren't often written about but not going over board to the point of bordom.

I really enjoyed it alot!

Good listen

I enjoyed the book. The ending surprised me but all the loose ends were wrapped up. I hate books that have unresolved stuff. I'll listen to more of her novels.

Good! New narrators are hard to get used to

Great story. A lot of reviews complain about the narrator. There is nothing wrong with it other than being different than other books in the series. After a chapter I didn’t even notice.

Kathleen Early, PLEASE come back!!!

What did you love best about Faithless?

I always enjoy the story lines.

Would you be willing to try another one of Clarinda Ross’s performances?

One word...NO!

Any additional comments?

I've really enjoyed listening to this series until this book. I did not enjoy Clarinda Ross' narration at all. I really miss Kathleen Early!! Please get her back!

Terrible Narrator

What made the experience of listening to Faithless the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed this book overall. The entire series is good, but this particular narrator was terrible! Very monotone.

Great Book Not A Fan Of Clarissa

A great book as always by Karin Slaughter. Love the characters and storyline.
Fastly becoming my favorite writer (I know fastly isn't a real word)
I did not like the orator at all, her accent and the fact that I could hear her turning the pages. Not sure who orates the next one but will be disappointed if it's Clarinda again.

Hard

I like this series a lot but this narrator almost made me have to skip this one - this person had me hearing banjos all the way through and i just really didn't have these characters depicted as that "hokey" or back woods. Also - I'd be shocked if anyone were pleased with the anti-climatic ending after the horrible last fight scene..... just yuck. :(

Got it despite bad reviews and wasn't disappointed

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Another good one in the series. Started listening to Triptych after, and it's a bit too disturbing

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nobody in particular. Very nice portrait of Lena - annoying as she is.

Which character – as performed by Clarinda Ross – was your favorite?

I liked the narration. Got the book despite bad reviews on the narrator. Can't understand why there are so many negative reviews. She is very easy to listen to. Clarinda Ross isn't overplaying it, she is very clear and articulate. Southern accent is ok, gives the book some extra 'local' feel.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Lena planting a gun.

Any additional comments?

Instead of deciding to buy or not based on the reviews I prefer to listen to a sample. People have different preferences, and I really liked the narration.

New narrator

Loved the story.

Changing narrators in the middle of the series just puts me off. I was shocked at the slow southern accent. I know they are in the south and if the first narrator didn’t give them an accent then the one who takes over needs to at least listen to the series.
