Publisher's summary

Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia. Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart.

Great mystery w a twist on the Traditional zombie!

This is the second book in the White trash Zombie series. I read the first one. Loved it. Listened to the second one and I loved that even more. This series has a different spin on zombies. These are functional people with jobs yet they still have some abilities of traditional zombies.

Narration was perfect! I had a real feeling of being in the south. Which I missed out on when I read the first book.
Their is a really good mystery in the book. Well worth the credit!!!!!
I am looking forward to a book 3

Fun listen, I want more!

I purchased the 1st book in the series ( My Life as A White Trash Zombie) to take a break from the longer epic books I usually read. I immediately purchased this one after I finished it. It was fun and light as I expected but surprisingly Angel was a charming character that hooks her way into your heart. I liked the authors take on zombies and her concept of brains use (i.e. brain smoothies) and the zombie mafia. The narrator gives an excellent performance being animated without being over-bearing.

Terrific follow up to book one.

Would you consider the audio edition of Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues to be better than the print version?

Yes, Allison McLemore adds a lot of flavor to the telling of the story

What other book might you compare Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues to and why?

This was my first book featuring zombies living secretly among us, So no comparison - except for the first book "My Life as a White Trash Zombie.' Both terrific, fun stories,

Have you listened to any of Allison McLemore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Haven't heard her on anything else, but I would definitely give her a listen.

You Can't Keep a Zombie Down

The second installment in the White Trash Zombie series seems to explore how many times you can kick Angel when she's down. Fortunately for both her and the reader, she knows exactly what and who she is, and that's not someone who takes things lying down. Her resilience and growing self-appreciation are endearing, and one can't help but root for her as she fights to keep the good things in her life.

Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues expands Angel's story from murder mystery to multi-layered conspiracy plot. While that may sound absurd, it IS a series about a zombie just trying to make her way in the world, so ramping up the intricacies feels like a natural progression, and the details, far-fetched as they may be, make for an engaging and intriguing tale. There's a lot of set up in this one for future books, and while there was enough resolved to leave me satisfied, the breadcrumbs were such that I sped through it in two afternoons, and will quickly be moving on to the third book.

Allison McLemore does a good job narrating once again. While she doesn't stand out enough to be among my favorites, I have no complaints about her narration this time around, and would happily listen to more from her.

Addicted!

This is such a fun series! I picked up the first one as a random buy during a 2 for 1 sale, and now I can’t wait to hear what Angel is up to next! The characters are well written, the stories are addictive, and I cannot get enough of the sarcastic, intelligent dialog.
