About this listen

Humanity's expansion into the stars has led to awe-inspiring discoveries - and terrifying new threats. An insidious alien race is waging an interstellar war, enslaving any civilization they encounter to carry out their galactic rampage. Now they have set their sights on mankind.

Tag Brewer is a medical scientist, not a ship's captain. But as humanity's survival hangs in the balance, he must lead a ragtag crew of humans, a skeptical alien, and a synthetic lifeform into the depths of enemy territory. There he forms an uneasy alliance with a group of aliens - the Mechanics - fleeing from the destruction.

There is only one way to track down and stop their frightening new adversaries. Tag must follow the trail of devastation left behind in the fallen Mechanic empire, where he hopes to recruit other survivors to their cause. But what Tag and his crew find is far more dangerous than any of them thought possible.

Don’t drive and listen….

It’s so easy to become so immersed in the story that you may find yourself driving your car like flying a starship in a battle. Love this series. Can’t stop listening!

action packed

Very well paced. Like a good action movie it keeps moving, not slowing down for anything.
Downside to the fast pace is It can be sparse on the details. There are no big hour long expation dumps you learn as you go whith the crew. It leaves a lot for your imagination to fell in. Personally I like this for something I listen to will working. I don't think Ray Bradbury would though.

Outstanding!

This book really ups the stakes and they have never been more dire. Spies, traitors and a ruthless enemy intent on galactic domination make for a compelling story.

Very Most Awesome Series. and for the haters....

I've read thru some idiots reviews. One said well people don't act like that.... the characters are flawed, etc. options are like your back side and they stink. In space one does not smell the other while in their EVA suits. So read on; this Scifi series is amazing just like the last 20 series I read. loved it all 5 books.

Even better than the first!

This series just keeps getting better. I thought the first was a great ride, the second was even more epic. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series!

Ok

The reader seems to not match the context of the characters and situations they are jn

“Minds eye” is an overused phrase

Tag is the smartest guy in the story who solves every single mystery except the simple ones we all know already- because the greater plot demands he become inconveniently stupid

An even better second installment

Would you consider the audio edition of Edge of War to be better than the print version?

Yes, the narrator brings the battles and suspense to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, indeed.

Any additional comments?

Fans of Anthony Melchiorri will find lots to enjoy in this newest installment. New aliens, new worlds, epic battles. All narrated perfectly by Bradford Hastings.

Too much is the first thing that comes to mind

When a story gets written in a way that one just longs to get through it , you know that something was done wrong. The story starts of somewhat believable but the sheer number of 'bad luck' the main characters have to deal with, and non stop battles leaves you wanting a break at some stage . Thiis title is packed with action - and not the good type - it gets to be annoying at around half way throughg the book. I think I will give the rest of the series a skip .
