About this listen

The Earth is dying – the only hope for humanity lies amongst the stars

Climate change, war and pollution has finally reached the tipping point and Earth will soon be incapable of supporting life. As temperatures across the globe rise to dangerous levels, the planet’s atmosphere begins slowly rotting away. Access to food and clean water has become scarce and mankind is forced to turn to the stars in search of a solution.

In a neighboring galaxy, an alien planet may offer humanity a second chance. In a desperate bid to save humanity, thousands of colonists are hurled into the cosmos hoping to forge a new life on this strange and distant world.

As Captain Brian “Finn” Finnegan takes his first few steps on an alien world, he finds himself facing obstacles that no amount of training could have prepared him for. He must pit every ounce of his knowledge and experience into scratching out an existence on this strange new world.

With deadly predators, dangerous ecosystems, and even more sinister threats lurking around every corner. It’s up to Finn to ensure the survival of the last remnants of the human race. However, when a new threat emerges, he must gather whatever allies he can find, no matter who or what they are.

With nowhere left to run, the only option is to fight.

Relatable characters, action, adventure, and a touch of mystery all come together to bring an exciting and diverse story that will leave you wanting more.

interesting story

Same basic concept. We mess up the Earth. We have to find a new place to live and it has other aliens that has more tech than we do.

Good Story but Not Good Science

This book has a campy but intriguing story. The obstacles the protagonists encounter hold your attention pretty well, but the book failed to satisfy my expectations. As far as I can tell, the military aspect through the book is probably pretty true to form. Though some of the scientific inconsistencies are wrapped up in the plot and resolved by the end, that is not true of them all. It's a bit like reading a book from the 50s where the lack of knowledge leaves you thinking, "well that's a little cute." Only in this case, the author could have known better if he'd spent a little more time researching some of the topics. I hope this isn't too harsh. After all, as long as it remains free, it's a worthy listen. If it were read by an actual person, it might call come off better.
