About this listen

The life of an unscrupulous bastard can sometimes be fraught with difficulties. First, there was the sweet young thing who claimed he'd impregnated her. (Know what a condom is, Brett?) Then there was the desperate young man who wanted to take him to court. (One of the risks you run when you insist upon being so unscrupulous.) How about the guy who showed up at his apartment and threatened him at gunpoint? (Punching him out at that party might not have been such a good idea.) Or the ex-girlfriend who came back, just to call him STUPID? ('Nuff said.) But when someone left a dead body on top of his bedspread, the message that needed to be sent out was clear: "Don't mess with Brett!"

Unscrupulously funny book.

I received this book free for an unbiased review.

This was a tough book to get into listening to at first. The narrator reminded me of Andrew Dice Clay but after getting into the story that voice worked well for the unscrupulous Brett. It was an enjoyable entertaining listen never knowing what Brett would get himself into.

The best none SiFi series ever written !!!

My favorite series ever, you’ll find everything in this series, murder, comedy, detective work, violence, sex and no political correctness what so ever.
The best of this series is that every book is better then the one before which is unusual.
No matter how much you’ll try you’ll never find a better series and by using audio no less then perfection was created !
David D. D’Aguamno is amazing, using Travis Henry Carter for narration complete this masterpiece.

Guaranteed enjoyment and laughter with tears.

Absolutely recommended with all my heart.

Even so that I got this audiobook for free, I believe that my review was absolutely honest and couldn’t be better.

Kept me laughing

Very funny, definitely not your usual mystery story, and they could not have picked a more perfect narrator! Well worth taking the time for :)

ANOTHER AWESOME INSTALLMENT!

I'm a huge fan of the BRETT series!! This one was well written and well narrated as always, and Brett is just simply freakin' awesome.

It's a ton of fun to listen to, and sarcastic and funny in all the right places. Love it!!
GREAT SERIES :)

Every book is better than the last!

There ain't a bad one in the entire series. As always, Brett comes into contact with ordinary civilians, drinks their booze, smokes their cigars, sleeps with their women, kicks some ass, and ruins everyone's lives. So why do I love him? I can't say just why, but it's the same reason you will too! My highest recommendations. A phenomenal author.

WOW!

Wow!
I don't think I ever read/heard a book in which I hated the main character so much! I absolutely loved it! :)
David D. D'Aguanno managed to create a character which is so antagonistic to everything normal and basic human decency.
The book is very well written and the narrator, Travis Henry Carter, is doing an amazing job in bringing Brett Cornell to life.

Hilarious Series!

I have enjoyed this series immensely! The narration was great. This author does an excellent job with the characters and plot. I have read every book in this series except the first 3. What's great about this series is you don't need to read them in chronological order! I look forward to reading the other books in this series. Another rendezvous with the love machine

Well in the finale of the adventures of the true gift to Womenkind our Macho mega super enhanced testosterone blazing Brett we have a lot more genuine emotion yup our hero has shown he is actually a Human Being.

In this final adieu we begin to glimpse a small bit of our 37 year old hero and how he may face a life as an old 38 year old individual of the male persuasion.

David D, and his superb Narrator give a memorable send-off to a brilliant series which uses sharp wit to illustrate the absurdity of life in todays America.

I shutter to think of all those cute little pixies and hot young sexy creatures of the female order that will no longer have access
to Bretts Package and or standard equipment.

So I make this offer untill the Midterm Elections those in dire need of certain services that hot young babes may require may
avail themselves of my services......... bearing in mind of course that this is only in the public interest.

Again thank you to the Dynamic Duo of Writer and Narrator and may THE FARCE BE WITH YOU !!!!!

The Don Juan of The Cro-Magnons

This may be book nine but my first encounter with Brett Cornell and the D’Aguanno’s mystery series. I was unprepared. I anticipated a mix of hard-boiled and pulp but not the male super stud cross of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum and Robert Parker’s Spencer. I hear in Brett (via narrator Travis Carter) the Rhode Island mongrel tones of Boston with New York.

Getting use to Brett Cornell’s brag and swag took time. It seemed like I was watching a twenty-car pile-up and I couldn’t help myself from looking. I suppose it’s the reason people go to a NASCAR Race or WWF wrestling match—the fun is in the mayhem. Forget grammar, forget the mystery formula, forget a brain. The book rollicks sleaze that is beautiful narrated by Travis Carter—why isn’t he famous or on Saturday Night Live?

I wanted to hate the unscrupulous Brett; I wanted to hate the book. But I can’t. It’s too good to not enjoy. I eat chocolate cake. I don’t want to and I know it’s bad, yet I enjoy every bite. I believe Brett Cornell the best recruiter for the PC movement and #metoo. Compared to Brett’s exploits, Casanova’s are kindergarten projects.

Don't mess with Brett

This is an enjoyable book which is over-the-top comedy, rather than a mystery novel in the conventional sense. You will get quite a few laughs out of this book. The narrator make it more funny.
