About this listen

Kill the bad guys. Save the Galaxy. All in a hard day’s work.

Eddie might be enhanced, but Ghost Squadron must expand if they’re going to keep the Federation safe from Felix Castile, a man hell bent on nothing less than the assassination of General Lance Reynolds. To stop him, Ghost Squadron will have to do the impossible - infiltrate the enemy’s stronghold.

What the team learns could change everything.

No one is safe from Felix Castile, who has the means to change the Federation, and not in a good way. Eddie and Julianna may not always see eye to eye, but they agree on one thing.

They will die to protect the general.

No matter the cost, no matter the sacrifice, one thing is certain.

The Federation cannot be allowed to fall.

Experience this exciting military sci-fi saga and the latest addition to the expanded Kurtherian Gambit Universe. If you’re a fan of Mass Effect, Firefly, or Star Wars, you’ll love this riveting new space opera.

*NOTE: If cursing is a problem, then this might not be for you.

Space adventure, action & humor

This is a great end to this story arc; full of action, humor, dangerous missions and new and old characters. Eddie and Julianna battle pirates, get slimed by a giant slug, sneak aboard their old enemy's ship, and fight to protect their friends and the Federation. I loved the development of the relationships, character growth, action and humor (even Pip’s knock-knock jokes) in this book. It has you both on the edge of your seat and laughing out loud. It is not a stand-alone book, as you really do need to read the series in order, so as to get the full impact of this action-packed story. The narrator of the audiobook once again did a great job, he especially seems to show the humor in the story well. This is an exciting story in the Ghost Squadron series and even though this story arc is complete, the epilogue to this book leaves you dying for the next arc.

An exciting & enjoyable read

My fourth read from the collaborative efforts of authors Sarah Noffke & Michael Anderle. An even more exciting & enjoyable read than the first 3 books in the series with the same well-developed, memorable characters. Narrator Chris Abernathy again adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I look forward to Ghost Squadron #5.

This series keeps better better with each new book

Reviewer: Teresa Fallen Angel

Summary:
This story began with Eddie and Julianna sent out to get crystals needed to build their ships, as usual Eddie gets them into a dangerous and funny situation fighting pirates and a large slug like creature. They end up covered with slime(yuck) that while nasty may be worth its weight in gold per Hatch, their mechanic. That is just the beginning as an old foe Castile sets his plan in motion to kill General Lance and anyone who gets in his way will die.

Eddie will remain forever irreverent, but he has taken his responsibilities as captain as seriously as General Lance knew he would. Julianna never lets on about her emotions, but they surface allowing the reader a deeper understanding into her reactions. Nox has found his home just like the other newer member of the Ghost Squadron as they fight to protect the defenseless and each other.

There is never a dull moment in the action packed audiobook that comes alive for the listener.

A cool space adventure with fun characters

Degeneration is a cool space adventure with fun characters and lots of action that fans of the genre are sure to enjoy. For those who have been reading (or listening to) the rest of the books in the series, this book is every bit as good as the previous books, perhaps even bit better. This book also has the added bonus of ending the story arc, although a new one starts with the epilogue for everyone who is excited to keep reading this cool series. This series contains a fair amount of cursing, so if that bothers you, this is probably not the series for you. The reader of the audio books does a nice job bringing out the humor in the books, though his female voices all sound like guys.

Just kiss and get it over with

Yes, this was an awesome book. Incredible action with a fantastic plot. But why didn't Ed just kiss Jules and say his feelings. It's obvious she feels the same way and is just waiting for him to make the move. Also could have had more Lars action as well. But otherwise great book. Expect more in the future

Yes a fitting end

This is a slower paced story but it’s still full of action a new team is bought on board and at least one of the major plays is taken out and if not in a fitting way. But the book ends on another cliff hanger with what seems to be another person or persons with a grudge against the federation. The Ghost Squadron have a new ship and their AI is an old friend.

Degeneration

This is a wonderful addition to a great series! All of my favorite characters are back and there are some great new additions as well. If you enjoy sci-fi with a touch of snark, check out these books. You won't be disappointed!

Eddie and Juliana and the rest of the Ghost Squadron are after the infamous villain Felix Castille, who is determined to kill General Reynolds. Felix has developed a serum that degenerates the nano enhancements that inhabit many of the characters. Eddie and Juliana and their team will stop at nothing to protect the General and save the Federation.

A few of the more minor characters from past books have a more prominent role this time around and I loved the development of Chester in this installment. Harley, the crew's dog, is also present and his major scene adds a lot of excitement to the book.

Lars, AKA Carnivore, gets a chance to revisit his home planet and resolve some issues there. Pip continues to evolve as so much more than just an AI and tells some truly cringe-worthy knock-knock jokes. More characters are added this time around and some great alien life forms that I hope to never meet make their appearance. There are also some heartwarming moments in the story as Ghost Squadron takes on some more humanitarian missions.

There is plenty of action involving pirates, aliens, space battles, injuries that could potentially cause death, and witty dialogue, complete with lots of swearing. The characters are well-developed, the story action-packed and there is just enough humor to keep the tone light.

I love this series and look forward to each installment with bated breath (whatever that is!). Sarah Noffke is one of my favorite authors and whatever she writes really makes for a wonderfully entertaining read. The narrator, Chris Abernathy, does his usual great job and I love the different voices that he uses. You always know just who is talking with his diverse voices.

I know that this series will eventually end, but I hope that the authors might see their way to writing some prequels involving some of the characters and their backstories (hint, hint).

Liked the conclusion to the story til now

This is the fourth book I’ve read/listened to by this team of authors. I’m enjoying these easy listen space operas. The interplay between the lead characters is funny, the characters all have diverse personalities and the situations they get themselves into are creative. I find I smile a lot when I listen to these books.
This book has a conclusion to a story thread that has been prevalent until now. Nonetheless, we are given a lead into the next book.

This is the fourth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Chris Abernathy). I find his narration has improved and now I quite enjoy listening to these books without the feeling of awkward areas. He has some gruff character voices and his female characters are not girly. He does well with the character personalities and flow of the story.

There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence. There is swearing.
