We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Such a fun series!
I am really loving this series! It’s clever and fun and just really well done, in my opinion. The author does a wonderful job with the narration too. I hope he keeps writing more books in this series. 🤞🏻

Love this
I’ve listened to the first and now this. Love the characters I feel like I would recognize them if they walked in my door. The mysteries are good and just confusing enough. And I love the author’s reading of his books. He gets (obviously) every joke and there are quite a few laughs. His enthusiasm for the story is contagious. I really have loved listening to these. On to the next!

Cozy and French Mystery like a mug of coffee in a charming cafe.
I enjoyed it vey much. Great narration and a fun story. It’s complicated enough to avoid being predictable. The character development is also believable. I’m usually a bit disappointed by cozy mysteries because they are not believable and are too cliche. This series is very well written and entertaining!

I’m in love with this series.
There is something so charming about Richard I can’t help but smile. His cluelessness combined with the crazy cast of characters. Perfect.

Funny and enjoyable
Dry-wit humor abounds in this highly enjoyable read. The often absurd situational comedy is on point. The characters and setting charm. Sometimes trying to follow who did what and why can be a bit confusing and you feel a bit like the befuddled Richard Ainsworth, but all is explained in the end, wrapped up and in fact teed up for the next installment. I will look forward to the continuing adventures of Richard and Valerie!

A funny mystery. It’s the second in a series and I recommend reading the first book before reading this one. Nice and light.
