Low sodium diet plan

While this book is not introducing a weight loss plan, it does introduce the reader to a plan that can help lower high blood pressure. This book provides a great introduction to a way to cook healthier foods with a lower sodium content. Along with explanations as to what foods can be the most nutritious in this diet, it also provides several recipes with delicious sounding foods to get you started.

Good information, convincing, but...

This book has me convinced that lowering sodium intake is a good idea, but respectfully this book may play out a little bit better as a “read” then a “listen”… I found the voice performance a little bit robotic to listen to at times, however, still worth a listen and I’d recommend it especially if you have high blood pressure. Could save your life!

Lower Sodium With Just a Dash of Knowledge

The Dash Diet is a new concept for me. My primary care physician did recommend a lower sodium intake, so I thought I would give this a try.

This first thing I worried about BEFORE listening to the book was the lack of flavor in the food. However, AFTER testing a few of the recipes, I realized that the food actually tastes wonderful. The way that the recipes are put together really help maintain big flavor.

Do I miss salt? Of course, I do. But, the options provided in this book help me miss salt a little less. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for edible food that has low sodium.

Great way to lose weight

I was skeptical about trying a new diet since they seem to never work out for me. This audiobook made it easy fro me to adjust my lifestyle. Now I know why my blood pressure is always on the high side and how to fix it. The recipes are great and they are very easy to make. Overall I am very happy I got this book.

Comprehensive!

This is a great book for those at risk for Type II Diabetes or high blood pressure. It does a good job going into the science of what's happening in your body when you eat certain foods that can exacerbate these problems. Making simple changes recommended in this book allows many people to notice improvements in as little as two weeks.

In addition to the scientific and lifestyle recommendations, the book also provides a bunch of easy to follow recipes to help those who aren't sure how to implement the DASH diet into their lives. For some people, it could be an extreme adjustment depending on what kind of foods they're used to (like fast food, processed foods, etc.), but the changes recommended here are tangible.

Great Intro to Dash Diet!

The Dash Diet for Beginners was perfect for anyone just starting out. The book was detailed enough to give ample support for changing dietary lifestyle while maintaining simplicity. As someone who is new to dieting, I was afraid of being overwhelmed, but this audio book did not disappoint. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, informative guide to dieting!

Good primer for folks new to DASH

This is a great introduction to the DASH diet. It's especially good for people who are new to it, as it communicates a lot of info in an easy-to-understand manner. This isn't one of those diet books that requires you to have a degree in medicine to figure it out. It's all laid out for you. As with any diet book on audio, though, I think it might be easier for some people to have a written form, or at least a way to take notes.

A great eye opener!

I had heard of the Dash Diet in the past, but had never really looked into it in that much detail. I’m very happy that I listened to this audiobook, I had never really recognized how much sodium I was consuming on a daily basis. This audiobook definitely opened my eyes and taught me about the health benefits of the dash diet!
