Publisher's summary

Highland warriors, sworn to protect innocence through the ages... A dark, ruthless Highlander, the Black Macleod has refused his destiny. His life is revenge for the massacre of his family. His enemies' insults - that he is a man of stone - only amuse him. But fate is impatient, and when a woman from another time dares to summon him, he cannot resist her powers - or her....

Vengeance was his only companion

A schoolteacher by day, Tabitha Rose uses her magic to protect others by night. When the vision of a dark Highlander, bloody and burned, appears to Tabby, she knows she has been called to help him, no matter how frightening he might be. But what Tabby doesn't expect is to be taken against her will to his dark, violent time. And when evil begins to stalk her, she realizes she must fight for far more than his destiny - she must fight for her love....

I really enjoyed this!

As a huge fan of "The Black Dagger Brotherhood" series by JR Ward, and Gena Showalters "Lords of the Underworld" series, I like my romances to be hot. Very hot. I was not Disappointed with "Dark Victory". The story was captivating, and the characters interesting. The romance scenes were hot as well, although one of my few complaints would be that the author doesn't spend enough time describing the actual deed itself. none the less, I found it very sexy and satisfying. The narrator does an excellent job as well. I think it is very hard to find a decent narrator for these types of books. Most of them come off annoying. but She did a very good job. I would listen to her again anytime. The only other real downfall of this book is that Ms. Joyce gets a little repetitive in her vocabulary choices. I think she must have said, "Tabby cried out," and "He/she was incredulous". about eight dozen times. but all and all, this was a great listen, and I will be looking for more by this author and narrator, hopefully in the same series.

Second time around even better.

Read the book years ago. The audio was so much richer. Narrator did a fantastic job. Felt like I was in medieval Scotland.

The best series I've read yet!!!!!

I absolutely love this series, this book was great, I like them all so much that I can't decide which one I like the best. The narrator is great. The story is thrilling and full of suspense. The romance is ok, if it had left a little more to the imagination or at least been a little more imaginative then that would have been great as well. I have one more to read and I'm already feeling sorry that there aren't any more.

Dorothy you are not in kansas anymore.

I understand that the women are from modern times and the masters from centuries previous. It seems these women forget that. They say more times than I care to remember "well in my time"... I always want to shake them and remind them "Dorothy you are not in kansas anymore."

I am so amazed that as modern women they confuse sex with love. All because a warrior master with the highest sex drive you have ever known has left you completely satisfied in bed you fall in love after a day or two. It is school girl nonsense and an insult.

The women are so surprised to find the men to be mucho and giving orders. These same women have studied these previous centuries and know full well how the roles of males and females in these times but continue to be so surprised.

I enjoy the continuation of the stories of the masters of time but I really would like one of these modern woman to act as she is not a stupid little school girl. And remember each time in history has its own clothing and roles for the sexes. I am concerned the women are not at all worried about changing the future by insisting on wearing clothing from their time or acting as modern women.

Hot Highlanders and Time Travel!

Great book. I love this series. I keep thinking the one I read before it must be the best in the series until I am engrossed in the one I am currently reading. Steamy, suspensful, and imaginative.

The best of the series.

The story of Guy and Tabitha is the best one out of the Masters of Time series for me. From beginning to end I was intrigued. I couldn't stop listening.

Wonderful Series!!

What made the experience of listening to Dark Victory the most enjoyable?

The most enjoyable thing about any audiobook, aside from the actual writing, is the narrator. If the narrator can tell the story in an entertaining way, you can be pulled into the universe of the book and thoroughly enjoy it. Jennifer Van Dyck always seems to do a great job with the narration of these books!

What did you like best about this story?

The intense, unexplainable pull between Tabby and Macleod from the very beginning of this story is what I like the best. They seem to be drawn to each other for no apparent reason and neither one of them are able to fight what turns out to be fate.

Which scene was your favorite?

In this series, my favorite scenes are always when the couples finally realize that they are a part of each others destiny. Macleod is a very

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Fate will always win.

Any additional comments?

This book for me was different from the rest of the series because it focuses on the struggles of both Tabby and Macleod. A lot of the other books were about the women rescuing the Highlanders and making them see their destiny. In this book though, Tabby also had to figure out her destiny and come to terms with her own fight with evil.

Jennifer Van Dyck is awful

Is there anything you would change about this book?

the reader just ruined these Brenda Joyce books? No one would believe, she is a sexy woman basd on her reading voice. I just quite as I could not finish!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jennifer Van Dyck?

Kristen Potter, Natalie Ross, Gabra Zackman

Nah

It was hard finishing this mess. I' m basically reviewing the first 4 books with this one review. You can't put todays supposed values on ancient civilizations. This series is (The Great White Female Hope Come to Change the Barbarians). Nobody told any of them that when you enter somebody else's house (Time) you follow their rules. They got lucky somebody didn't kill one or all of them. These women are always yelling 'in my time' like they're to stupid to realize they're not in her time. Besides that they are the weakest, whiniest bunch I've seen in a while. Everybody they come up against is stronger than they are. It got ridiculous. And what's up with the (White Power) comments. The narrator's reading was good until she had to do the males, that was painful to listen to. Hope Sam 's book with Ian is better.
