Publisher's summary

The best-laid plans often go awry...

Kalugal watched the monitor, following the steps as the program ran through the lockdown protocol. Once the bunker was secure, he pulled his immortal captive's earpiece out of his pocket, put it in his ear, and tapped it to activate.

"Everyone listening can move and talk now. Good night."

"Wait! What have you done with Arwel?"

Kalugal paused with his finger a fraction of an inch away from the device.

Should he disconnect? Or should he engage?

A dilemma.

On the one hand, he was eager to start questioning his captive, but on the other hand, this was an opportunity to talk with the team's commander and learn what he had in mind, as far as escalating things.

Was the guy on the other side of the connection in charge of the operation? His quick recovery from compulsion indicated that he had a good head on his shoulders and a strong personality, which were both prerequisites for a command position. Most people would have needed several moments to collect their wits.

This should be an interesting conversation.

Best book so far

Loved this! More of a story line and not as much sex- keep it up. Love this series

Kalugal

Really you know who, really?!! Kian and I was right, there was a mole....
You can definitely see similarities between Lokan and Kalugal with their Mannerisms.. but Kalugal, in my opinion seems less Snakey, and more honorable when being on the opposite sides of the clan so to speak. I am soooo curious to see where it leads. Love Magnus and his Dad jokes. This was another fantastic book that I couldn't put down. 10 out of 10 recommend this series. I need to read the next one now!

Arwel and Jin... the finale

This is a paranormal romance and is thirty-seventh in the Children of the God series and the finale of the Dark Spy trilogy. Arwel and Carol are captured by Kalugal when Jin tethers him. She is whisked to the Sanctuary to be protected by Annani. Kian was right there was a mole--I feel sorry for the target at the moment. Maybe there will be a redemption, so the target will get a happy ending. Kudos to Ms. Lucas.

Outstanding!

My absolute favorite series, narrated by the absolute best narrator. I believe I love you Charles;) ❤️
I couldn’t put the book down. I listened to it throughout the evening and straight through the night. It’s just that good!
Waiting, not so patiently, for the next one!

The discovery of new information adds suspense on what is to come.

The reality of the situation proves to be a stepping stone in so many capacities. Espionage continues - mole discovered and education into the immortal life by dormants is explored further. Great read!

The allusive Kalugal!

The team stakes out Kalugal and plan to have Jin tether to Kalugal so they can spy on him without him knowing. But just as any great plan things go arise.

Poor Kalugal he doesn’t know what to do with a very sick Jin. He panics confirming he is a nice guy.

Jackie and Kalugal come face to face over a very sick Jin. Jackie being Jackie she puts Kalugal in his place at every turn. He is not used to anyone talking to him or treating him the way she did.

Interesting storyline. So many new characters.

Sad about Vlad. So many are going to suffer from this storyline. Gin and Steels story are majeck.

Nerve-racking events!

Relistening to the series. Love it even the third time around. Wendy turns out to be a mole! Richard isn’t “very deep.” Jin gets sick! Is she transitioning? Jackie stays behind with Kalugal as leverage.
