About this listen

Jane Yellowrock used to hunt vampires, but now she must fight - and win - beside them.

As Enforcer to the vampire Master of the City of New Orleans, Jane Yellowrock stakes her reputation and her life on keeping her territory safe. But Leo has been issued a blood challenge by the emperor of the European vampires, who seeks to usurp all of his power and possessions. If Leo loses the match to the death, the city will be forfeit, and the people of New Orleans will suffer the consequences. Jane can't let that happen.

Preparing for the duel requires all of Jane's focus, but with so much supernatural power in play, nothing goes according to plan. She has to rely on herself and the very few people she knows she can trust to stand and fight. Only two things are guaranteed: Nothing is sacred, and no one is safe.

Couldn't Put This Down!

I have resented work and shirked all my other responsibilities this week because I couldn't stop listening to this story. I have laughed, worried, yelled, and cried. I was happy, sad, nervous, scared - for the characters that I have grown to love throughout this series. Faith Hunter grabs your emotions and doesn't let go. She makes the places real, she makes the people real, makes it feel like you are there. Khristine Hvam brings it all to life. Her Jane voice is what I hear even when I read Jane Yellowrock books in printed form.

I have always loved reading, because you can go places and learn things that you might never otherwise experience. To have books that actually take over a little corner of your heart is rare. For me, this is one of those stories.

very dark

fantastic Jane yellowrock Book but very dark. You can tell that it was supposed to be the last one in the series. But I like the twist that keeps the series going. still if this is the way Faith Hunter ends her series I'm not looking forward to the next last book!

H & L

Hated it and loved it in turn. Hard to accept that Jane's final acts would be so cowardly... until realizing that she acted true to character.

Love Narrator's voices of early characters, however as cast grew she was not able to create original voice for each new character.

Best book in the series

I love this series but omg I was not expecting this book to be so good. The is definitely the best book in this series so far. I was sad to think it would be the last book of the series but relieved to find out the series has been renewed for another couple of books. Even though a lot of things about Jane and the characters were answered in the book there is still a big cliffhanger at the end that leaves us knowing there will be a whole new adventure ahead. I wish Faith Hunter could write faster since I am already anticipating the next Jane Yellowrock book.
