Publisher's summary

"The man could kiss to the beat. The hot, eclectic beat of the tango music winding its way through the room. It sounded so judgmental. Tango, the dance of lust and passion...how could it be judgmental about something like this? As Rick kissed her lips, then her throat, and then her clothed shoulders, Olivia felt a famished sensation wash over her, the tango music the soundtrack to her heated desires swelling inside of her until she was about to burst."

DANCES WITH THE ROCK STAR

What Olivia Owens cares about: becoming a professional dancer.

What she does not care about: handsome Latin rock stars who can charm their way into any woman's bed.

She's barely heard of Rick Rodriguez before. Something about selling a lot of albums and selling out his first world tour. But Olivia doesn't have time for men. She's got a career to launch, and Rick's latest music video for "Midnight Tango" is her chance to strut her stuff.

But the universe is funny about things. The more you push something away, the more likely it is to come bite you in the ass. So Olivia shouldn't be surprised that Rick really lives up to the title of talented dancer. She should be even less surprised that she's falling for the oldest trick in the tango book....

Passion. Vulnerability. The heat of the moment. When combined, any Latin dance will turn two people into an undeniable pair. Olivia wants Rick. Rick wants Olivia. They're about to get really, really close on his first world tour.

The Midnight Tango calls. Will Olivia answer?

I enjoyed this audiobook by Cynthia Dane. It's always great to get a trilogy in one audio! Huge plus. Rick was a great guy. He was down to earth and kind. Olivia was strong and focused. Listening to this book was like watching one of the dance movies. I could feel and see the awe inspiring performances...hear the music in my head. I really liked how Rick and Fiona's relationship was handled by all the characters. It wasn't a deep book although there were some serious moments. They all played out perfectly, which is probably too much to believe. But I liked it. Not a lot of drama was a nice change!

This was my first time to hear Louisa Gwin. She did well narrating most the time. There were times I lost track who was speaking/thinking. I'm not sure if that was her or how it was written though. I enjoyed her performance overall. She has a voice that is easy to listen to for a longer period of time.

Loved the music and chemistry

the chemistry is undeniable, i love the music and the dancing evolving into something else. I like that we learned a lot from the past and overall of the kind of person Rick is but I would have enjoyed a longer epilogue and more development on the side of Olivia. I feel we did not get to know her deeply, it was mostly superficial but still I enjoyed the bookm, the funny moments, the sexy ones. I will definitely listen other books from this autor. I have to say this is my first time listening to his narrator and she did a great job for female and male parts.

Dance of Attraction

Olivia's dream of dance has her dropping out of school and perfecting her talent. Her chance to be seen brings her to an audition and her chance to get out there. Although, it doesn't quite turn out to be her best she has been given an opportunity of a lifetime. Rick is the classical new Rockstar his desire to make it big, women at every turn but still has that human side and the bit of fear that he might loose it if he isn't careful. The physical attraction is there for both, the dramatics of life on your and past misdeeds can catch up with you.

The story is very engaging, just wish the narrator had a bit more feeling into the reading. There were times that were very monotone, the inflection of voice could have upped the excitement or enhanced the sadness of the moment. I had a hard time getting through the book due to the narrator but hung on for the storyline.

It’s nicely done

I’m sure I’d have liked this book better if I had read it instead of listening to it. I didn’t particularly care for the narrator’s voice nor her way of reading.

The story isn’t anything orginal, but it’s nicely done. You have your handsome rockstar who also knows how to dance, and your pretty dancer who gives herself completely to her art. They meet, they have a no strings attached relationship while they work together, and they go their way with a heartache when the tour ends. Now to see how and if they end up together–hint, I only read HEA, happily ever after.

I enjoyed the side plot regarding the manage, and the one with Rick’s ex. They brought the major conflicts in the relationship, and they were interesting. Another thing I really liked was all the tidbits about latin America’s culture–since both main characters have a diverse heritage with strong links to South America. The exotic touch was nice.

Entertaining read

I enjoyed listening to this story. It was well written and flowed well. I loved having all of the books and them going back to back, definitely improved experience for me. The narrator was not my favorite and did not really add much for me, it didn’t really take anything away either. Sometimes it was hard to tell aft first when she was switching dialogue/point of view by her voice change. Couldn’t detect too much of one through the story. Overall, I really enjoyed the story though and it was a fun listen.
