Publisher's summary

Coyote made Mother Earth angry. Coyote made the deer dance. Now Coyote has returned, trailing violence and death.

From a New Mexico arroyo, a bullet-ridden body has been mysteriously dragged to a highway. In a small town, a lawman is swamped by complaints of coyote attacks. On Navajo land, a young man faces the truth about who he is, where he comes from, and where he must go.

Investigating the murder of a Navajo leader, Sheriff Cliff Lansing comes up against an official whitewash that has branded the victim a drug dealer. But Lansing's deputy, Gabe Hanna, has already made a connection between the dead man and a multimillion-dollar timber deal on Navajo land. Suddenly, a land torn between ancient spirits and high-stakes power struggles is burning with violence. And as men die, the Trickster, Coyote, runs through the land-demanding justice and revenge.

I love this book!

Fast paced, mixing old legend and gritty modern day law enforcement! I loved the story and the telling of it! The Native American creation legend stirs my heart!

Review of Coyote

I love mystery/ action adventure books that include Native American culture/beliefs in the story. This book was fast paced without feeling rushed, and enough action to keep you anxious for the very likable characters. I was not familiar with this author nor narrator, and I absolutely am a fan of both now!

Enjoyed

I liked this book as much as I did the first one. It’s fun to hear the legends of the Indian tribes. The spiritual mysteries are intriguing. The narrator is very good also.

Just one small thing

Story good, narrator good but for one small slightly undulating affectation at the end of questions. Quite annoying to listen to for over 6 hours!
