About this listen

There are rogue government agents hunting supernatural creatures all over Charlotte. There's a bloodbath in the parking lot of a demon bar and a massacre at a shopping mall. There are protests and tear gas and riot cops and somehow Quincy F'n Harker is the one stuck in the middle of cops, monsters, and demon agents trying to keep them from tearing his city apart.

And now there seems to be a traitor in their midst. Couple that with the revelation that Harker's guardian angel might have an ulterior motive, and you've got a web of deception and intrigue that can only be Conspiracy Theory.

Great story and awesome narration.

The narrator James Anderson Foster was the perfect person to
read these books. John G Hartness is a great author in my
opinion. I will keep listening to them as long as he keeps
writing them.

Wow!

What the Hell John! Why you gotta be writing these amazing books! Another magnificent book to the collection and I feel the need to read the next one. I hope there I going to be a next one because to many things have been left unanswered. But wow! This book was great from start to finish and left me thirsty for more. When is the next book coming out because I can't wait to read it. Thank you for your creativity and badass writing. Awesomeness, all the way through.

Love this series..

And Quincy Harkner and the Shadow Council. Constant drama and excitement and just plain old fun.

No romance and the F-bomb is used 241 times.

As for the narration: James Anderson Foster is simply awesome!

The characters. The writing. The spirit of the book.

There is not one thing I didn't like. The characters were real to me. I miss Cassie.

I like these but seems like the same book over and over

Except for references to past events and his relationship with Flynn I don’t think you’d be able to tell them apart.
Harker tries to do good, does something stupid or gets betrayed by someone, gets beaten almost all the way dead, pulls a rabbit out of a hat last minute and wins. Despite multiple witnesses and survivors (and security cameras) the cops blame Harker for some inexplicable reason, hate him, try to lock him up, someone gets him out, he tries to have a day off, but monsters go haywire and he gets pulled in to get beaten half to death, etc etc etc. Wait, I forgot that at every stage, Harker makes a plan then immediately after gets a phone call and someone says “Harker we have a problem”. I don’t know if it’s a joke on purpose or not. Same mistakes, same consequences, same oops I did it again.
NOT that I’m advocating for overall change!*. I hate it when authors F’up my favorite series by trying to make it into something new. We liked it that way!! Millions of $ and fans weren’t enough evidence for you?!
So, it’s a continuation. If you like it, rest assured. If you are continuing to listen thinking it will be different?….ummm… not yet.
One…issue (?) I have with these and other magic books is that in many situations I find myself thinking : with all the power you have you can’t do something about that? Can’t freeze everyone in place? Can’t put up a shield? Even a wall of fire would keep the 2 groups apart. Why can’t he disable guns from a distance? Melt them, clog them, break them, etc?
And does NO ONE have camera phones? Security cameras? I don’t get it. All these things happen, there’s a huge controversy over what happened, blame is flung everywhere, always on the wrong people to deleterious effect, and no one ever seems to be able to verify or disprove anything. You’d think Quincy would be smart enough to carry a voice recorder at this point.
I know accuracy would eliminate a good chunk of conflict and plot but the frustration of misunderstanding is too ever present for me personally.
