I'm completely blown away by the quality of this story the performance and the recording overall. as far as The story goes it was amazing if you're a fan of Joe ledger or books about things that go bump in the night, or mysterious groups who fight against the dark evils of the world. this is the book for you is a perfect encapsulation of the genre and we'll stand in the annals of classic action horror. not quite all the way horror but all amazing. this is a must-read

its like Lovecraft decided to take a crack at Marvel. i highly reccomend this book to anyone who loves monsters, mysteries, and weird violence coupled with satisfyingly intense scenes.

Only complaint is the savagery of the two villain brothers (though I guess that is to be expected) pretty interesting story, sort of a mix between lovecraft and super hero genres. It should be scary (and at the start it is) but let’s just say it’s as if you were having a nightmare but then lucid dreaming takes over and you suddenly have super powers to pummel your fears into oblivion. Hopefully we get to see a sequel here on audible.

This book started slow, an frustrating for me. It finished with a bang. I am so eager to continue series.

surprisingly better than expected

It starts with some action. But the writer leaves you as bewildered as the characters. Takes awhile for you to get a grasp of the book. Which isn’t a bad thing really.

Kind of a slow midpoint but it gets better and better as it goes.

An Awesome story

Narrator was excellent, in that he made a wonderful effort in keeping the voices for the various characters different enough to tell apart, and had a steady, pleasant speaking voice. I also didn't need to change the playback speed, as his pacing was excellent.

Story started strong and ended strong! the middle was really... middly? I mean, it was okay in that it kept heading towards the strong conclusion, but honestly you could have skipped the entire middle section from "we're running away!" to "we've come back because we decided to fight instead of run" and you'd only have had a 1/3 of the book left... but it would be all the good bits. Middle section was devoted to backstory for one character and a lot of running around doing nothing for the other.

I might pick up the next book and see if it gets better middle bits than the first, but I'm honestly not all that invested in either main character, as they're both unrelatable. The action was good though.

not gunna lie I only listen to cause I finished all my other books and this was in my library. but I was so invested cant wait for the next book now.
