Publisher's summary

After defending the Sanctum, hearth and home of the Jackal Sect, Luca and his disciples have worked hard to establish a foothold on their little island.

The Skalds remain undealt with, however, and the Wylish folk face an unforgiving winter. Without the meat and herbs Luca harvested, many would have already died from starvation and sickness. And the cold will only deepen with time.

Luca's shouldered a monstrous burden. In addition to extending his protection to the exiles, the cultivator has taken on a most improbable task: raising the nascent Jackal Sect to a position of power.

One of seven in Andaya abroad, Luca's sect lacks what its six sister sects have aplenty. They have few resources, limited manpower, and far too little time to amend these shortcomings.

Most dire of all, their deity is young. Though Leshra's wit is sharp, her own powers fall well short of the gods Dai and Ro.

The Chaos Monks will not let the theft of the Divinity Scroll remain unchallenged. With all the trials Luca faces, he has no choice but to strive for greater power.

He's set his eyes on the island's interior. There lies priceless reagents, the potential to make up for the lack imposed by their isolation, and if he plays his cards right, the boon of much-needed allies.

First Fist is a progression fantasy series containing elements of wuxia/cultivation, light and creamy LitRPG, sect- and base-building, light crafting, and epic fantasy. While this book contains cussing and graphic violence, it does not contain explicit or sexual content.

An epic story

This series has been absolutely amazing. The characters are unique and interesting. The story is well crafted and entrancing. The narrators are so talented! The main character, with all of his power and all of his flaws, is one of the most relatable and believable main characters I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing a story with. I love this story, and I cannot wait for more!!!

great

good progression. what I don't like is that some transitions occur as if there is a missing paragraph. e.g. there is a celebration and the MC is then back in his home town.

Loved everything but Luka’s voice

The book was great and the character development is honestly incredible. The only complaint I have is how often Luka yells and bursts my eardrums. He’s so snappy with everyone out of nowhere and the narrator really leans into it. I received more than one headache listening to this but it was definitely worth it in the end.

Another great story

I thought it was a great continuation of the first book and I'm glad to finally get the sequel. I hope more will follow in due time. The narrators do a great job of making the story come to life and the author's story is not just some copy paste of an already established trope, so that definitely helps.

A Phenomenal Follow-up

If you enjoyed book one then you are sure to enjoy this as well. The tale of Luca and the Jakal sect continues to grow. Stakes are raised and new challenges discovered. I can't wait for book 3!

I hate prophecy

Prophecy is the biggest writing crutch there is. It's like plot armor and duex machina all rolled into one. Its the lazy way to shoehorn in events. What with a little effort could be done organically, coincidentally or intentionally is force fed cryptically instead.

Even just visions on immenitnet events is lazy but when all the characters actions start to revolve around prophecy it ruins a story.

This author can do so much better so why rely on such a gimmick instead of good writing. Also the whole always showing up at the last minute but right on time cliche is bad. Either have him be too late or show up with time to plan out action. The literal always right at the last moment thing is unrealistic and just predictable.
