Publisher's summary

By the most ludicrous of means, special ops soldier Clayton Sanders had a warning that something was going to happen to the world. Clay prepared for the worst, but just because you're well prepared doesn't mean everything is going to be okay. Clay has faced some of the worst humanity has to offer in all parts of the world, but now he is faced with something much worse than terrorists. His family.

Having returned home at great cost to himself, Clay has prepared his family as best he could in secret, but now that the crap has actually hit the fan, things aren't going as he had hoped. Having planned for his family to shelter in place at their farm and ride out the worst of the disaster, that plan goes completely haywire within days and doesn't get any better. Forced by his family's actions to abandon his initial plan, Clay and his friends must adapt quickly and make a new plan on the fly.

Faced with armed gangs and a leader who shocks them all, how will things play out for Clay and the others? Especially when his own family members can't seem to remember the plan and continuously make things hard on him and the rest?

WOW! It keeps getting better

This series was so good I didn't even take the time to write a review. I went straight for the next book, then the next book and now book 8 is finished. Keep going, several twists and turns. This is just a good story. I normally listen to books that have thousands of reviews, best sellers and they don't write a good story like this. The narrator grew on me. He does the Old Man very well, Clay, Brick and many others. You can see the layout of the land, the towns the fortified positions it all comes to life. You have good guys you like, bad guys you like to hate and the survival of a family. Many hard choices to make. Keep going the series keeps getting better and better.

I love listening to this series. Engaging storyline and characters. Good action but not over the top.

Apocalyptic Adventure

Don't judge me but this is the third time of me reading this series. I am waiting patiently for the sixth installment, each character has me well invested in their journey. the writing is realistic but my favorite character is Leon (Pa) who is onerously complex and funny. Clay is the baby son who has a world of knowledge that isn't really given the respect deserves. All in all great narration and great novel.

Feels like you are part of the family

I really enjoyed this book. I feel like an observer on the farm. The character and story building are good, and I am enjoying the pace. I like the way the plot is unfolding!

Good Series

I’m so glad I found another apocalypse series to listen to. And this one is really really good. Started off I thought a little odd but it just gives you time to know the characters well. It’s a real story and I finished two books and I’m so much looking forward to all of the rest. There’s not a lot of curse words, which some of these books overdo. But there is good action and good personal stories. I am thoroughly enjoying this!

Great Series, can't wait for the next book

I finished all 3 books in this series in less then a week, great story. Only thing that could have made it better is if it was narrated by Kevin Pierce, which by no means is a dig on Lee Allen, because he does a great job, but Kevin Pierce just does end of the world like no other.

A good lesson.

Mr. Reid is a great storyteller. Really enjoyed the series. The narrator does a pretty good job but is a little week on female voices which is not unexpected. He does a outstanding job with the old man, Pa.

Iraq to licking Rising through it low Tech apocaly

this wasn't a bad book. As usual and Siri does not disappoint and he leaves you wondering about things which is what a series is supposed to do. I'm willing to pay for more books
