Publisher's summary

Welcome to Grace Valley, California - where blood runs thicker…ties are stronger…and love is all the more sweet. Visitors to the town often remark about the valley's peace and beauty - both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows - this is country life at its finest. But visitors don't always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond.…

June Hudson grew up in Grace Valley, the daughter of the town doctor. Leaving only to get her medical training, she returned home and followed in her father's footsteps. Some might say she chose the easy, comfortable route…but June knows better. For June, her emergency room is wherever she's needed - or wherever a patient finds her. She is always on call, her work is her life and these people are her extended family. Which is a good thing, since this is a town where you should have picked your husband in the ninth grade. Grace Valley is not exactly the place to meet eligible men - until an undercover DEA agent suddenly starts appearing at all sorts of strange hours. Everybody has secrets down in the valley. Now June has one of her own.

Such a wonderful story!

This feel good story will leave you wanting more! I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series.

This book is well written and a better narrator could not have been chosen.

Highly recommend to anyone who'd like to smile and feel part of a small town for awhile.

Very enjoyable, and gets even better!

I love both author and narrator, so had high expectations. Was a little surprised when the main characters stories continued through the trilogy rather than being primarily completed in the first book like the authors other books, so I waited to review until the end of the trilogy. Turns out I LOVE it! It’s going on my regular read list!!! This book is good, but the story gets even better as the series goes, which I find is frequently not the case. A great addition to my collection!

Awesome

Where’s the rest? I’m so excited to keep reading them. I just hope they aren’t going to be full of heavy long winded detailed sexual scenes and tons of using Jesus’ name as a curse word and G D as curse words. In life everywhere I go, activity center, playhouse, stores, church, beach, restaurants, even the laundromat & stores, I never hear those words out loud. Even at the Bar and grill! People say sh_t or da_n , I hardly ever hear the F word at all (unless you were to go to AA meetings) or nasty bars, but at the pizza parlor or fish n chips or harbor, I just don’t hear people talking nasty words let alone calling people bad things. Not now a days- thank God. Back in the 90’s it was terrible and early 2000’s but the last 5-6 years not so much. It’s wonderful. And we don’t need heavy sex to know they enjoyed each other. We have imaginations. We don’t need x rated in a nice book. These aren’t shades of grey! I don’t read crap like that!

Just okay

I have listened to almost all of Robyn Carr’s novels and this one was endearing but I found myself missing the beautifully descriptive intimate scenes between the lovers. Most of her other novels are very tastefully done and you can feel and imagine it happening. But in this novel she skips over the whole thing. There are a lot of good back stories but without this look into the romance of the main characters it was just a long book about a cute town.

Great Story, Great Narrator!

If you like a little "warm & fuzzy" in your books then you will love this!

Robyn Carr never disappoints!! I love the story, love the narrator and just wish there was more. Hope the other 2 books in the trilogy are released in audiobook soon. If you've listened to Virgin River, this book will make you want want to check in on Mel & Jack.
Therese Plummer is amazing, I will buy any book she narrates!

Really liked this book.

Kept me interested but not uptight. Enjoyed the small town story. Narration was good and made the book flow nicely.

Good Story, A few mispronunciations by narrator

A nice story about the many people in a community and how they all work together and affect each other. Author does a good job of drawing you in, and leaving you wanting to finish, so you can hear the different resolutions.

Most narrator mispronunciations tended to be medical terminology, such as Pitocin (heard as PIT-oh-sin, instead of pit-OH-sin).
