"Fourth Wing will have your heart pounding from beginning to end ... A fantasy like you've never read before."—Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times bestselling author

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Yarros.

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away … because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Great story - terrible narration

I’ve listened to RS narrate before, and there was at least one other book she narrated where she was this disgustingly congested, but it only lasted a couple chapters. This one was so so hard to get through and lasted way longer than I anticipated, and I’m not even sure I can say it got better towards the end. If you have aversion to congestion, this will definitely make you gag. I wish this could be re-recorded.
Shame too, because the book is really great. I’m looking forward to listening to a congestion free book 2.

Great!

This was a book I did not want to stop listening to. At one point I stopped just to check if there was a sequel yet! Yes, some familiar tropes, but carried In interesting ways. Characters worth rooting for. ❤️

Worth the hype

Sometimes the MC is annoying. But other than that, the plot is great, the action is heart thumping, the love scenes are electric and the small dragon is my favorite ❤️

Great book…needs better narrator

Beginning narration was ok but by the middle you could hear weird background noise and sniffing from narrator.

Book was great though!

Good story and narration

first the narrator. there are a ton of older comments speaking about the narrator, but insaw at the bottom of the synopsis of the book where audible said they updated the audio for this book, which I'm guessing has happened more recently. the new narrator is great.

the book itself was good. a lot of these types of books remind me of the Divergent series and can be somewhat predictable in some parts, but I'm a sucker for magic and dragons so I enjoyed it.

Don’t understand the dislike for the narration

The story was very gripping and pulls you into the world and you want to keep gobbling it all up. Really gave me the feeling like I was reading an alternative universe of divergent but with dragons and magic but it was still really good. I didn’t have any issues with the narrator and I was even listening for them since I’d read the reviews but if there were I couldn’t tell. Can’t wait for the rest of the series

Could not stop listening

Just like everyone is saying the narration was definitely not the best, but story was so good it was easy for me to get past. 20 hours didn’t seem like enough. Can’t wait for the next book!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!

I am not one for fantasy. ACOTAR took me a bit to get into (loved it in the end…A Court of Silver Flames is my jam). But this book right here, I loved every minute of it!

Nice story but bad Narrator

It’s a great story but sounds like a child with cold narrating. Makes the story feel very YA
