"The Virgin River books are so compelling - I connected instantly with the characters." (Debbie Macomber)

Before it was adapted into a Netflix show, Virgin River was a series of more than 20 novels by New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr. The audiobooks, all read by Audie Award-winning narrator Thérèse Plummer, are well-loved by a wide audience. The series takes place in Virgin River and revolves around new resident Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner and midwife. There's more to this sleepy town than first appearances suggest.

Loved It

I have not listened to all of the Virgin Rivers books, but the ones I have read have been good. Don't you wish all persons would do the honorable thing. Therese Plummer always does a great job!

Not angry, just peeved.

And not about the book. Competent writer. Calm, straightforward, smooth even and compelling narrative. Very adroit recapitulation of previous events without smothering interest.

I don’t like “she turned to walk away and he grabbed her arm.” This one has that and it ends okay but despite the considerate and consistent use of condoms through the entire series no males seem to be cognizant of the consent requirement before physical restraining a woman saying no.

And. Big pet peeves. One has to resort to Google to determine the series order rather than it showing up on the cover or the book details. Really? Is this a reliable trick to get us to buy more books? AND. The despicable habit of advertising another title at the end of a book I just finished is brought to maximum absurd offense by encouraging me to read an earlier book in the series. Huh? I finish the eleventh book and you think I need to go back to the fifth or sixth? Not cool.

one of my favorites

Love this book because the Riordan brothers love stories are almost as interesting as Jack and Mel.

A great listen!

An enjoyable read, on its own or as part of the series. I originally listened to the books as I came upon them and enjoyed them so much I listened to them again in order.

I HATE SELFISH WOMAN BUT I LOVE THIS SERIES

What did you love best about Angel’s Peak?

Franci is a selfish b***h i hate woman who keep children from the father, (Evan if he says he is not ready ) the poor grandmother . I don't know how i would react if that happened to one of my sons . Franci was a good mother and redeemed herself in the end, but the first 3h of the book really annoyed me. I listen to the book but it was not one of my favorites in the series. best thing about the book is all the other characters. I LOVE JACK AND PREACHER they are the men in my dreams (don't tell my husband).

What was one of the most memorable moments of Angel’s Peak?

when jack say every time he hears the cartoon music he gets a woody as that means it play time for him and his wife. best line ever .

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love Therese Plummer she is so far the best audible narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

when Rosie and Sean meet, and Sean wakes up with Rosie's work all on him.

Any additional comments?

I LOVE VIRGIN RIVER YOU NEVER GO WRONG

Hated for this one to end.

Loved this one so much. Nothing but sweetness all around. Excellent series! Listen starting at book 1, and read in order. You won’t be disappointed.

He grew on me......

*Note: I did read this series in order but am reviewing them out of order.

This is book #9 in the Virgin River series

Honestly, I hated Sean to begin with and because of that i thought I'd probably not care for this book. And then......

Narrator, Therese Plummer is wonderful of course!!
