When Shane accepts a scholarship to the University of California, she doesn't expect to be housed with a homophobic roommate. Nevertheless, upon making friends with her roommate's cousin Rayne and her best friend, Shane starts to feel at home.

Then, one night, while hanging out with Rayne and her friend Adam on campus, the three witness a murder. Shane's idea of a normal school year collapses, and she is suddenly the target of this murderous killer.

Academia

Nice short story about murder on campus. Makes you think about those around and what they might be capable of.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review from the author/publisher/narrator.

This is a fantastic read. If your a lover of mystery, this is a great one. I really like how the Author has brought out the story, and makes the story real as you listen. The Narrator with there Narrating also adds to making these characters so real. I definitely recommend this read.

Interesting Mystery

This was an interesting read, I liked the mystery. I really liked that it wasn't very predictable.

The narration by Julie Beal was pretty good as well. She brought the characters to life, though i didn't love all of the voices. I'd recommend this good quick listen.

Academia

Murders galore in this book. Such a fun listen especially this time of year when Halloween is so close. I really enjoyed the thriller part and the suspense waiting to see who is causing all this turmoil.

The lady protest too much!

Shane has the worst first week of college. Her suite mate hates lesbians and Shane and her new friends rain and Adam witness what they think is A murder and now he’s after her.

The only complaint I have about this book is I wish it would have been longer. It was not at all predictable and it sometimes it was pretty funny. I love that!

um... what was that

first legalities, I have been given this book free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review. ok now that that's out of the way... what the heck was that, seriously. Potential spoiler alert we're supposed to believe street seeing a girl get kidnapped you just go to sleep... you doing follow up? So much of this story doesn't make sense. and all the kids are all of a sudden eager to go detective and solve a crime... most people stay as far away from that as possibly. just so little reality I'd sooner believe in dwarves and elves. The only reason I didn't go below 3 stars was because the book wasn't awful. just ridiculously unbelievable.

A Good Storyline!

"A Good Storyline"

Written by: Nicole Higginbotham-Hogue
Narrated by: Julie Beal

I am familiar with this author I have listened to a few of her other books in the past. I have been delighted with a few and some maybe not so a static about them.

Academia had a good storyline but for me it was hard to determine if all the action occurred in one or more nights. If it was suppose to be only a MYSTERY and SUSPENSE and NO ROMANCE. I had other questions but I don't want to give away any of the plot.

This is my 1st time hearing the narrator Julie Beal. Although she has Very Good vocal tones as a Storyteller, it was hard to distinguish when she would multi-voice her characters. Ms. Beal had spoken with clarity & confident, so I felt she had deserved the 4- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for her performance.

It's always ones choice to check out a book after reading some of the blurbs and reviews. So, I will let leave you with that!

Great Read

Nicole hit it out of the park with this novel. I really liked everything about the characters. They were believable, well developed and diverse which was very engaging . The story line was fast paced and believable and well laid out. Julie did an exceptional job narrating the variety of voices and the vast dispositions of the characters. I would recommend this audio book to anybody but especially to folks with limited time to relax and enjoy as it is a short novel. Keep them coming Nicole.

a good suspense book

I enjoyed this book. I thought I had figured out who the murderer was, not once, but twice, and when it was finally revealed I hadn't had a clue.
I thought the narrator did a great job too.
