Double trouble

If you think you have what it takes to solve a mystery, try this book. It involves two murders and two robberies and lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Quirky characters and mystery

Another great Aggie Underhill cozy mystery! This time, Aggie becomes involved in a murder and bank robbery while innocently attempting to open a savings account for her grandson. Of course, with her natural curiosity (dare I say nosiness?), you know that she will quickly solve this intricate web of unlawfulness!

This book (as well as the other in the series) is full of quirky characters, twists and interconnections that you won't see coming and Aggie's signature pocketbook! The descriptions of the many characters really bring them to life and the reader can almost see them as they are introduced. The author has created a wonderful character in Aggie and anytime I'm in the mood for a fun, entertaining and well-written cozy mystery, I know that this series will not disappoint!

The narrator for the audiobook does a fantastic job and her various voices with their distinctive accents and personalities really bring this book to life.

Over the Top Delight

This was such a sweet story, though at times it felt a bit over the top and a little more complex than it needed to be. Even so, I truly enjoyed the journey and found myself smiling along the way. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the story to life and adding to the overall charm. Aggie is loads of fun!

Quirky, Fun, Entertaining and Fantastic!

All the necessary elements combine perfectly to make “Deadly Withdrawal” a WINNER! The characters… delightfully quirky, yet completely believable! The story … engrossing, twist filled, fast paced and laced with just the right amounts of humor and tension, The narration … vibrant, emotive, and engagingly entertaining! The verdict … five fantastic stars! I loved it and I can’t wait for more!

Good storyline

The story idea was good. I did find myself asking why certain characters chose not to fight at certain moments. It made it feel very fake to me. I’m not sure the narrator did this book justice as well. It was a cute story and easy to follow. I would listen to it again.

A great Aggie Underhill mystery!

Deadly Withdrawal is the first in the Aggie Underhill mystery series by Michelle Ann Hollstein. I didn’t realize it was the first until the end when she mentioned going to meet Betty’s cousin in California. a
I have read many others of the series out of order and each is a pleasure. Aggie is a smart, independent woman with a variety of friends and family around her. Her inquisitive nature (some may uncharitably say “nosiness”) gets her in some sticky situations, such as a bank robbery and helping a new friend hiding from a violent domestic partner. The mystery took some twists and turns but Aggie got there in the end. The narration by Dana Allen was wonderful. She used unique voices for the characters and brought the story to life. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

Wandering

The narrator does a great job with all the different character voices, but all the repetition and wandering around really makes the storytelling hard to follow.
