About this listen
Jon Hawkins and his crew are exhausted and homesick. They've destroyed the alien machine menace, going deep into the Kuiper Belt to annihilate the secret A.I. base. From out here the sun looks like just another star. It's a lonely existence. They're ready to go home.
What they don't know - what no one could - was that the A.I. destroyer was only a scout.
More alien vessels drop out of hyperspace. This is an A.I. assault. The clock to human extinction has begun ticking.
Jon and his crew are tired, homesick, and pissed off. They've fought too hard and bled too much to quit now. They're going to find a way to beat the death machines; for the sake of their homes, they have to.
A.I. Assault is a novel of military science fiction by best-selling author Vaughn Heppner and the third book in the A.I. series.

Story
After endless years of fighting in a galaxy-wide war, the most decorated super-soldier of the Old Federation was granted leave, sliding into a stasis tube aboard a sleeper ship. The ship never reached its port, and the soldier woke up a thousand years later on an operating table. The Old Federation was gone, most planets hurled back into the Stone Age. A devastated Earth used spies instead of spaceships to compete against the tougher, richer worlds.

Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Supreme A.I. - SUPREME book!
I've listen to the first 3 books of the series. I'll summarize them in one review:
All 3 books have a great narrator!
Book 1 starts with a nice story, but the story develops quite slowly. The overall story is not bad, but it lacks lots of information. As if it goes too slow.. Other than that - the author does a short enough descriptions of people, ships, etc, so you won't be bothered with useless information.
Book 2 is kicking asses! Story goes much faster, lots of more information, very interesting!
Book 3 story is very rich - even more interesting than book 2.
In short - very nice series. Recommended!

long and drawn-out, but still interesting
This would have been better with some tighter writing. It is starting to remind me of the Saga of the Seven Suns that went on and on and on. It gets tiring in the middle, but once again, in the end, it is enjoyable and interesting, and keeps us wanting more.
Some new characters are introduced and some others dispatched, and the humans keep proving they can outsmart an AI.This volume does move the saga forward quite a bit, so the next installment should be a good one!
Marc Vietor does well with all the voices.

Good Book.
At first it started off well but as I listened the temp picked up the pace and the book began to feel rushed as if for a deadline. I finished the book thinking that this was a big rush and the author wanted to set up the base-line for spin-off or stand-alone books.
I like this "galaxy" and hope for more books, just not "rushed" books.
