Publisher's summary

In early 1800s England, Jess Beauchene has spent most of her life in hiding and always on the move in an effort to leave her past far behind her. But when she learns the family she thought had died just might be alive and in danger, she knows her secrets can only stay buried for so long.

Derek Thornbury loves the past, which has led him to become an expert in history and artifacts. He knows Jess has never liked him, but when she requests his help deciphering the clues laid out in an old family diary, he can't resist the urge to solve the puzzle. As Jess and Derek race to find the hidden artifact before her family's enemies, they learn as much about each other as they do about the past. But can their search to uncover the truth and set history right lead to a future together?

Excellent

This is the third book in the Haven Manor series and it may have been my favorite. I really enjoyed all three of these books and the narration of the audible versions was very well done. But the gradual revelation of the characters of Jess and Derek was so unique, interesting, and enticingly done as we see their relationship develop and grow, even while they essentially remain very different people with wildly different backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses. And yet, as we often see, opposites do attract!

Another great read!

This one has a deliciously preposterous plot, heirs to a throne disappear, clues to proof of their identity hidden in paintings, but it has the sweetest hero

Not her best plot

I was hoping Kristy Ann Hunter would follow up with Jess’ story. But I really think the plot just wasn’t that interesting. As usual the characters ARE interesting and dialogue is the best part of the story. However, I really expected Jess to be fleshed out a little more. Perhaps more scenes from her childhood would have done the trick. Still, it’s worth a listen.

Absolutely Wonderful

The author is so talented. After reading a few of her books, This one by far is the most intriguing. The term opposites attract is a understatement. This story unfolds like the most beautiful flower with the most pretty and vibrant colors. The characters were so well written and presented I felt like I was there. This book is a must listen if you know what's good for you. The Natural placement of faith and God and the word was so perfect because the Bible is a life guide. I am so impressed with this book I look forward to listening to more of her work in future. Happy listening!💕💕💕

Great end of 3-book series!

This series focuses on 3 young women in the early 1800s who care for a dozen illegitimate children tossed aside by wealthy families. "Pursuit of Home" focuses on Jess, the cook, who has a mysterious past with royal ties. Love this mystery, and her relationship with Derrick, who makes his living as an art researcher and appraiser. Art pays a crucial role in this novel, along with royal bad behavior. The audiobook narrator, Beverley A. Crick, is fantastic!!

Wonderfully intriguing!

Fabulous written story, from the very first paragraph it draws you into the mystery, the unlikely friendship and the true identity of miss Jess. Loved this reading. Well done! Great series but loved the treasure hunt and unraveling of this tail.
