About this listen
Beatrix Manning, cousin to the beautiful Lady Cordelia, wants to be a famous novelist. Although she enjoys reading out her silly stories to the Literary Gathering of Dubious Merit, she has secretly been working on a book that she hopes will change her fortunes, but it requires a rewrite due to some unflattering caricatures of the Ton within the pages.
Felix Drake, a budding publisher and printer intent on growing his business, is flattered and grateful when an old friend invites him to read to her wealthy friends. As luck would have it, an entertaining story from a Mysterious Authoress recently landed in his lap, and it is as much of a hit with the Ton as he hoped it would be. Unfortunately one of the young ladies at the party claims that the book is hers - and than she has not given him permission to publish it.
Trix is horrified that her book - including the very unflattering portraits of some of the well connected members of Society - is fast becoming all the rage. With the help of her cousin, Cordy, she is desperate to limit the damage as much as possible, while proving that she is the real writer to Felix. If anyone else should discover that she is the author, however, her reputation could be ruined. In addition, the identity of the mysterious fake authoress still needs to be uncovered. Felix is inclined to believe Trix is the real writer, but his business depends on this book becoming successful. As their attraction to each other only grows, the real question is whether their different goals will bring them together or eventually drive them apart.

Story
Joni had always been fascinated by the history of her family’s old antebellum plantation. Her ancestor’s journals were filled with stories, many involving two slave girls, the older of whom was deeply involved in the “red magic” of the Bokors. When Messalina returns from the grave on a quest of vengeance, Joni must confront the wickedness of her own family’s past, while also embracing a truth even more ancient—that she is descended from a line of Druids. Joni is the only one who stands between Messalina and her insidious plans.

A third son to an earl, Adam Gillensford knows his only hope of an inheritance is through his great uncle. But when the Will is read, Adam learns most of the wealth has been left to a complete stranger, and a seamstress at that. If he hopes to salvage any kind of funds for himself, he has two choices: adhere to his late uncle’s wishes and assist the new heiress in finding her way, or sabotage her so the courts will find her unfit to inherit. Deciding his course would be easier if the heiress wasn’t so enchanting.

Story
Once trapped by marriage to a woman he loathed, Fitzwilliam Darcy is finally free again. Resentful, bewildered, and angry, he is eager to begin his life over - preferably with a woman who is the exact opposite of his wife. He never imagined a short stay in Hertfordshire would bring him face to face with his worst nightmare; a woman similar in face, form, and name. He certainly never expected her to be so impossible to ignore.

One man obsessed with power. One woman prepared to sacrifice everything to stop him. One war that changed the world. "World War three lasted 12 days. Twelve days was all it took for mankind to devastate the planet and almost eradicate the human race. No victor emerged from the ashes and billions lost their lives. We survivors lived through the bleakest of winters. A primal existence became the new order, and the little that remained of our humanity hung in the balance..."

Story
One of the turning points in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is Miss Elizabeth Bennet's passionate refusal and denunciation of the equally passionate but infinitely more repressed Fitzwilliam Darcy. However, unforeseen events can lead to the most unexpected consequences. During a visit with her friend, Charlotte Collins, at Hunsford, Elizabeth falls prey to illness for almost the first time in her life just as Mr. Darcy comes to call. Befuddled by her illness, she misinterprets his proposal of marriage, and a simple nod of acknowledgment is mistaken for acceptance.

#5 of 9 book series
Bramwell, the author, started this series as a gift for her mom who had worn out her Georgia Heyer novel. Romantic, but no verbal description of sex. In this book, a diamond of the Ton wants to publish her gothic novel and becomes entwined with her publisher. Great fun! A few characters from earlier books make cameo appearances.

What a Delight!
I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.
This is the fifth book in the Regency Romps series. Each book is a standalone and has a complete ending - no cliffhangers. You can read the books in any order but some of the characters do crossover from one book to the next.
What a delight! I very much enjoyed the humor - both situational and the witty one-liners. The kidnapping by the dimwitted villain was very entertaining. The manner of writing gets better with each book in this series. The MC, Beatrix Manning, is a strong, likeable, intelligent and very capable woman. And the ladies and gentlemen of the Ton are colorful and engaging. What a fun romp!
The narrator, Julia Eve, is the same for all of the books in this series. She does a great job and adds to the fun.

Delightful
A Novel Miss is a delightful clean regency romance. The storyline is strong and has a nice pace and I love the humor. As with the other books in this series, I adore the vibrant characters. The performer does a superb job with narration.
I received a complementary copy and have chosen to give my honest opinion.

Regency a la Heyer
A delightful romp which resonated with the Georgette Heyer vision of the Regency, wonderfully acted by narrator Julia Eve whose voices added to the fun.

Funny and sweet...:)
An aspiring and talented novelist whose work has been published without her permission and a publisher of the said novel who would like to believe her but has a business to run make an interesting couple in this funny, sweet and really entertaining romace :)
Beatrix and Felix are both likeable main characters, a couple we want to see ending up together. They are of the Ton and yet quite outside it, thus being able to observe its workings and comment on what they see with wit and intelligence. They are surrounded by a whole bunch of well described, colourful background characters playing bigger or smaller parts in the whole plot, which in itself is fast, engaging and with quite a few surprising twists. And I love the subtle humour prevalent in the whole book...:)
Narration by Ms Eve is wonderful; subtle and warm in general, emotional where nevessary, with almost all the voices well matching individual characters (the only one I liked less was Cordelia's voice - I thought she sounded definitely too old for her age...:)). Overall, it's a fantastic interpretation of the book.

A novel idea for a book
It has a good plot and the characters are well developed and interesting. These are stand alones but each book does have characters from the previous. The narrative was good. There was some mild cussing in it of which I wasn't expecting, that was a downer for me. I'm not sure Regancy is for me, but will finish out the series.

Loved This!
Can you imagine writing a whole book but before you get a chance to edit it, it is published and distributed by someone else. AND! What's more, it is an instant hit!
Well I just loved this scenario, all the characters and of course the love story that was built into it.
The professional narration by Julia Eve with her well defined voices was the cherry on top.
'Thank you, ladies' for entertaining me.
I listened to the audiobook and my voluntary and unbiased review of it is recorded above.

Great book
I really enjoyed this story. A secret exposed, an unlikely ally, a little love & throw in a kidnapping for full effect. This book had it all. Julia Eve did a fabulous job bringing all of the characters to life.

a delightful read
Beatrix (Trix) Manning, cousin to the beautiful Lady Cordelia (Cordy), wants to be a famous novelist.
Unfortunately one of the young ladies at the party claims that the book is hers - and she has not given him permission to publish it.
Trix is horrified that her book - including the very unflattering portraits of some of the well connected members of Society - is fast becoming all the rage. With the help of her cousin Cordy, she is desperate to limit the damage as much as possible, while proving that she is the real writer to Felix. If anyone else should discover that she is the author, however, her reputation could be ruined. In addition, the identity of the mysterious fake authoress still needs to be uncovered. Felix is inclined to believe Trix is the real writer, but his business depends on this book becoming successful. As their attraction to each other only grows, the real question is whether their different goals will bring them together, or eventually drive them apart.

Fun and cute romp
Another cute romp in this series. These are all a fun, easy read meant to entertain. Beatrix and Felix are interesting characters surrounded by interesting characters. I loved the varying personalities.
The narration in the audio-book is well done and enhances the story. I would like to continue reading this series.
