Publisher's summary

Often considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, Stanley Kubrick has been widely praised for taking risks such as doing at least one film in a number of genres to avoid being pigeonholed into certain styles or expectations. Yet he still received a great deal of support from big Hollywood studios and mass audiences. From his humble beginnings as a chess enthusiast and photographer for Look Magazine who did not excel in academics to a legendary filmmaker who eventually had creative and financial autonomy over the majority. A master whose influence is felt today more so than ever before.

A great approach to Kubrick's work.

A great companion piece to other works on Kubrick. Takes the approach of a fan instead of the regular newspaper critic approach.

One piece of interesting history is that his final project, "Artificial Intelligence", was finished by Stephen Spielberg and released... in 2001.

I read everything Kubrick I can get my hands on and this is a good addition to the collection.
