Acerca de esta escucha

Murdoch’s past has finally come crashing down on him. His former girlfriend. His Family. He’s been happily avoiding them for ages, trying to live something close to a normal life. But now he’s been drawn back into another one of their ludicrous attempts to bring about the end of all things.

Chase has spent the past year just trying to get away. Trying to escape the memories that won’t stop following him, the moment when his life collapsed. He’s traveled around the world trying to stay ahead of it all, but those final moments may be catching up with him at last.

Anne is tired of living in the past. She’s finally looking to the future and embracing her destiny. She’s going to lead the Family forward on their greatest, final crusade to destroy the hated Machine of their long-time adversary.

Their paths will intersect in the middle of nowhere, on an uncharted island where the walls of reality are thin...and an apocalyptic threat is tearing its way through.

About the Creator

Peter Clines was the inspiration for both the epic poem Beowulf and the motion picture Raiders of the Lost Ark, and is single-handedly responsible for repelling the Martian Invasion of 1938 that occurred in Grovers Mills, New Jersey. He grew up in the Stephen King fallout zone of Maine, where—fueled by a love of comic books, Star Wars, and Saturday morning cartoons—he started writing sci-fi and fantasy stories at the age of eight. He is the author of The New York Times best-selling time-travel adventure Paradox Bound, the sci-fi thrillers Dead Moon and The Fold, and the acclaimed Ex-Heroes series. His other works include Dead Men Can’t Complain, The Junkie Quatrain, the ongoing Carter and Kraft short story series, a collection of unproduced screenplays, and countless articles about the film and television industry. He currently lives and writes somewhere in Southern California.

About the Performer

Listener favorite and multiple award-winning narrator Ray Porter continues his out-of-this-world partnership with Peter Clines, delivering an epic performance while giving voice to a number of memorable characters. He has performed more than 300 books across many genres and was named an Audible Narrator of the Year in 2015.

I don't think anything will top 14, but this is a very close second place!
Clines started out his 'Threshold' series so strongly, I worried he'd never get back to the same level. Terminus assuages that concern as it continues with the plot developed in 14 and takes it further in to the yawning void!
If you were as disappointed by Dead Moon as I was, then this will come to you as a breath of fresh air.

Exactly what I wanted from the series!

This book is currently sitting at 4.5 stars on Audible on 2/19/2020 with about 1,500 ratings. It is a unfortunately a lazy stab at the series and isn’t nearly as interesting or enticing as 14 or the fold. No real strong mystery and just piggy backs on the other books skeletons. I think I’m off the Clines bandwagon for now.

Lazy Try

This could have been a much better novel. There was so many plot lines left unexplained I kind of lost interest in really listening to the book until the last hour or so. The finish was anticlimactic and hollow. Still worth the one credit but not a second listen.

Somewhat disjointed with a lot of dead ends

I normally love PC’s books, and this one fit well within his world, but there wasn’t a single character that I cared about.
Overall, it was well done and an interesting idea but ultimately it felt forced.

Lacking

Clines is a great author, I loved the first 2 books in this series; but after the last 2 I'm not sure I'll be bothering with another entry if he writes one. The stories are lacking the mystery that made 13 and the fold so compelling, they're trending towards tepid horror novels now with no real surprises to be had. It's time for him to move on to a new series.

Threshold is losing its lustre

Good book to kill a credit. It seemed a lot like the TV show LOST. Not great but not bad either.

Lost meets Gilligan island

This book brought back the feeling of mystery woven through the first two entries in the series. Clines does a great job of giving small answers and hints that lead to more questions. Just as importantly, those questions receive actual answers through the story.

I also appreciate that prior characters are used, but sparingly enough to not make it feel crowded.

Well done.

A return to what makes the series fun

I am really sorry to write this review because I had big hopes for this book after having read the reviews and I literally jumped on it.
Unfortunatelly it is based on similar elements such as cockroaches, Tesla, multiverse and neither the plot nor the base of the story is as solid as 14 or Fold. All the story is all of a sudden solved with multiverse magic as if the writer had to finish this book and do something else. It is more or less based on the fame of those two previous books and were you unlucky to read this one first from the Peter Clines collection you might hesitate to read another.
Ray Porter is fantastic as usual and helps A LOT to pull you in to the story with all the feeling he gives.
All in all it is not a disaster but his other works surpass this one by far...

Not close to 14 or Fold

if you have not, you should read/listen to 14 and The Fold before this. It will help to put much of what is happening in context. Performance is top-notch. As for the story; I'd rate 14 a 5, The Fold a 4, and this one a 3. It suffers from poor character development but excels at atmosphere.

Not the best in the series

I enjoyed the fold. This one was Professional done. Voice extent. Story line was very disappointing. I was spoiled by The Fold, and I think to many actors or people.
