Acerca de esta escucha
What are we to make of “supernatural” issues such as the existence of ghosts and the possibility of miracles? Approach these and other topics from a critical thinker’s perspective. Along the way, examine the deeper issue at work here: what is - and what should be - the relationship between science and the belief in things we can’t see.

Far More Profound Than I'd Imagined
I'd imagined that this lecture would debunk and ridicule the supernatural. Instead Dr. Novella does an amazing job of explaining the reasons why science by definition cannot investigate supernatural phenomena. He asserts that because we cannot falsify (prove the negative) we cannot make a proper investigation. He covers ghosts, young earth creationism and intelligent design. All of these domains he explains are outside of science. They are supernatual.

Limited View of Scientific Research
He uses an outdated positivist view to define scientific research. His view is too emotionally charged and clearly speaks from a heavy bias of a narrowly defined and limited perception of reality.
