Beat the Demon Lord and save the world? No, thanks!
My name is Mal, and ever since I was a boy I've been treated as a malcontent because of my ability to see magic. For everyone else, magic is proof of the Goddess's love. For me, it is just a colorful spread of enchantments, cantrips, blessings, and hexes. And any spell I can see, I can break.
I had always expected to grow up to be a ditch-digger. Instead, I was dubbed a hero. Heroes are sent out in the wasteland to slay monsters and to challenge the Demon Lord. It's a suicide mission. Once exiled, I found that the outside world was drastically different than I had thought. The beautiful women I meet, demons, dragons, and orcs, might be my best shot at surviving the insanity I've been thrown into.
Narrated in duet style.

Every character in every book you write is insufferable.

Now as for the story. Interesting concept. Had no issues with listening to the first two books but the third was hard to Pay attention to. Hell I just finished listening less than 20 mins ago and the only thing I understood from book 3 was that there was something too do in Annie’s mothers library. And that you bulldozed over her feelings in favor of a sex scene. Thinking about it there’s no reason for any of those girls should love him much less want to marry the Mc. The drake girl is just a horn dog that even near the end sounded like she was just looking to screw some one and the mc just happened to be dragged along with Annie so he was lucky there. And you explained it away with it being part of being a part of being part dragon. The orc just wanted to learn because she was innocent but apparently have sex once =love. The goblin is almost as bad as the Drake. Only difference is that she’s not required to follow Annie around she’s chasing adventure but again sex = love. As for the elf. She was added because the author wanted an elf in the harem and strong l since she was the first female elf that talked to them instead of going full murder hobo she was the one author tossed into the harem. She kind of gets the whole warming up to love thing from being reluctant at first and would work if the author didn’t rush it but then again the actions the mc preformed were not that impressive to earn that much love from her. I can only see it as he earned her respect. Note as for Annie. She had the most promise for a lover. The knight that bottled up her emotions and over time finding ways to gently pull down her walls then having a break down scene where she opens up was good. And I can forgive the sex scene there because it was her choice to knock most of the rest of that wall down. Left just enough of the wall because changing that quick doesn’t work and is jarring. But when she came to his room to talk about her feelings and getting ready to open up to her other friends. The mc not knowing what to do starts fondling her breasts tickles her a little cracks a joke then proceeds to screw her roughly almost immediately. There’s no way that should open her heart up anymore. It screams the mc doesn’t care about her feelings and is gonna treat her as an object. Now if there was a bit more in there. Something as simple as cuddling for a bit while and then things started getting slowly more hot and heavy then there would not have been a problem. But nope bulldozed right over her feelings.
Besides all that, almost all the areas where the author adds a sex scene felt clunky as hell. As if the author thought “story’s dragging better add a sex scene”
The story would be better with out most of those sex scenes And reduce the heavy handed harem aspects
Edit. So yea the next omnibus was worse. 10 chapters in. The mc who started in his own words avoided all of his classes. Is for some reason the smart one in the group. Author dumbs all the women down and side lines allot of Annie’s role. Couldn’t stand it.l I found it insulting. Terrible writing could not maintain the established character models. This author will be one best to avoid if this is the way he treats his characters.
Lost momentum. Desperate sex scenes to hold it together.
