Listening to Be More Empathetic
I liked the audio version of this book. Emphasis on “face to face” listening cannot be stressed enough in this digital world. Author is excellent in conveying this point. To use this audiobook in a business or classroom setting would be highly beneficial in order to create discussion periods during the listening process.
Personally, I think everyone has room to grow in becoming more empathetic in any relationship whether personal or business wise!
This book successfully meets those challenges!

Broadened My Perspective of Empathy
I had never given any thought to the difference between empathy, sympathy, and compassion until I reviewed this book. I appreciated the fact that it was not just a pie in the sky perspective of the subject presented, but offers some real world tools and techniques that can be utilized to enhance empathy. This would include approaches such as active listening, paraphrasing, and asking open ended questions. This book also included ways to interject empathy into digital communication ranging from text messages to zoom meetings… which is certainly important here in the 21st century.
The final chapters of the book covered the need for self-care, handling stress, establishing healthy boundaries and not over committing. Rewards for incorporating these concepts into your daily life will result in improvements in your communication in personal and business relationships.

Excellent Advice for Our Troubled Times
This is a timely and essential guide for our troubled times. We have never been more divided, and the root cause is most likely our lack of empathy for each other. Delia Sikes provides an impactful insight into the lack of communication and understanding in the workplace and our personal lives. And then suggests some very applicable solutions to these problems. The reader for this version is easy to listen to as well. Highly recommended.

A Great Perspective on Building Real Connections
I’ve always wanted to improve how I relate to others, and this book gave me a fresh outlook on empathy. The explanations are simple and easy to apply, making it clear why some interactions feel fulfilling while others don’t. I liked that it also covered self-empathy, which isn’t something I had thought much about before. The sections on communication and boundaries were especially helpful in making everyday conversations more meaningful. It’s a great read for anyone looking to strengthen their relationships and understand others better.
