What happens when you fall and hit the webtoons trope tree? You get killed by Truck-kun, get transported to a fantasy world by a sentient Fae coin, and become the first gay holy maiden.

Jake Alexander is Not Happy to be sure. Fortunately in Jake's case, part of the trope tree includes the gorgeous Duke of the North, Theon. And starting a business from scratch, which he's always wanted to do. And revitalizing his new country which is on the verge of collapse.

He could do without the killer miasma and corrupted kings and the singing magic and a sentient coin that doesn't shut up, however.

Jake's not sure if he should thank or melt the Fae coin into *ahem* something more useful.

It's super hard to find a fantasy that has enough spice that I want. Or one that I don't find the spice more in the way than titillating. Turns out this is just right.

I coincidentally finished another book with Tor Thom before this one, and I wasn't that big of a fan with his voices for the more vocal of a pair. He's a fine narrator, very sexy growling, just not all the way.

This book isn't the best writing-wise, but it's more of Sherwood's flair than actual bad writing, I think. I may be super biased for the setting though! Can't wait to start the rest of the series!

An amazing tale of magic! An isekai romance with drama and mystery and humor. One of my favorite books of 2024 and the audio is absolutely wonderful!

a modern man being transported into a well written heroic fantasy. There’s a good balance between romance, action and mystery. Definitely worth my time.

A great premise and good narration is messed up a few times when the hero becomes a flaming queen. Stereotypically gay in certain spots, it is disappointing to see Jake become a caricature.
