Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

Complex Mind and a Heart of Gold
Revisado: 11-24-23
This is a stunning must-read. About an extraordinary man who’s driven by a deep love of humanity and a passionate sense of responsibility for the preservation of human consciousness in the universe. Like the small handful of globally disruptive flawed geniuses that have walked this planet before, he has no interest whatsoever in being liked. Just as Lee Kuan Yew had said years ago when asked about his thoughts on the need for political correctness, (“I always tried to be correct, not politically correct.”), Musk presses forward like a man possessed, knowing how close to the existential brink humanity is right now. God speed his onward journey. Kudos to Isaacson for another triumphantly great biography.

Historia
For decades, the medical community has looked to a variety of reasons for why we age, and the consensus is that no-one dies of old age; they die of age-related diseases. That's because ageing is not a disease - it is inevitable. But what if everything you think you know about ageing is wrong? What if ageing is a disease? And that disease is curable. In Lifespan, Dr David Sinclair, one of the world’s foremost authorities on genetics and ageing, argues just that.

Eye Opening Work
Revisado: 12-24-22
This book is a MUST READ for all who love life. That ageing is a disease represents a quantum paradigm shift that will be met with much typical human mental inertia and resistance. I congratulate the author for his professional persistence and thank him for his ongoing efforts.

Fills a major void
Revisado: 12-10-22
This brilliantly crafted work stitches together the many gaps in our scientific discoveries and laws that relate to the start of our universe and the downstream occurrence of life. And the author then computes the probability that these discovered laws, (which are so finely tuned in order to have creation occur as exquisitely as it has), may have arisen randomly. The resulting incredibly small likelihood that these three dozen or so finely interacting laws could have arisen without initiating and continuing intelligent guidance renders random origination implausible. A must read.

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

A necessary read. Reminds us of the value of our first impressions which are deeply holistic. And of the pitfalls of over analysis where the parts distract from the whole. Critically important work. Thank you Malcolm 🙏🏼👍

Revisado: 01-31-22
This book is worth its weight in gold. Whether we use these principles proactively or not, to advance our own goals, is our choice. But NOT to know and recognise the underlying principles at work would leave us unconsciously exposed to unethical manipulation by others. Should be included in mainstream educational curricula in schools worldwide. Thank you for this immense contribution to the understanding of ourselves and our inner machinations, Dr Cialdini 🙏🏼
