Took a little to get into and to connect the dots, but then it took off, and it was good. Loved the unexpected ending, and now that I'm invested in the characters, I can't wait for the next one!

I finally caught up! Book 55 and still going strong. It was a brutal subject, but unfortunately, and sadly, it's a reality. Another well thought out story with all our heroes from Cop Central, and and all the well loved characters that make this series so special. Keep them coming!

In all the books I've listened/read from this sister duo, only 2 have not met my expectations, and sadly this was one of them. the plot seemed to go nowhere, not even sure there was one. Jane...simply did not feel like Jane, not the strong character I know and love. Hated the narration for her, she was portrayed as wishy-washy. Thatcher was just okay, expected much more from him. In a nutshell, I felt no chemistry between him and Jane, and it felt like they just went through the motions to get from point A to B.

I did enjoy catching up with all the siblings and cousins, but would have enjoyed just a smidge more time with their beloved parents.

I will not give up on this series, I have faith in the Ritchie sisters, they very rarely disappoint, but unfortunately for me, this book did not live up to what I know they are capable of.

A lovely second chance romance with very little angst. The narration was wonderful. I can't think of one thing that I didn't like about this story...it was perfect!

Lots and lots of internal dialogue, a judgemental heroine (who I guess was supposed to be quirky but I found her to be annoying and somewhat stupid), and very little spark between her and the hero. I just didn't see his attraction to her. I enjoyed the beginning and then got bored. I wouldn't say it was horrible, the narration was good, but with all the hype around this series I expected it to be much better. I will listen to the next book with hopes that it improves. We'll see.

A favorite read brought to life by the talented Elizabeth Munro. I'm always a little hesitant when books I love are given a voice but the narrator did a wonderful job portraying the characters and allowing the listener to get lost in this sweet romance. I can't wait for the next one in the series!

A delightful sweet treat for readers whose hearts were captured by the charming characters in Sustained. This novella brings us up to speed on Jake, Chelsea and their adorable brood of kiddies along with Stanton and Sofia from Overruled, and Brent and Kennedy from Appealed.

I was thrilled when I realized that Emma Chase was going to top this amazing series off with another chance for readers to re-visit with all the characters we fell in love with in the Legal Brief series. The characters remain true to themselves and the author doesn’t drag the plot down with unnecessary angst but instead gives readers an endearing memorable story. I was impressed with how Sidebarred read like so much more than a novella…not a word or scene is wasted. It is rich with witty dialogue, amusing situations, heartwarming moments, and passionate sexy good times. Jake and Chelsea are still burning up the sheets, or wherever opportunity allows some grown-up lovin’! With 6 kids in the house, it’s not easy but Jake is always at the ready! Love him so much, he’s one of my favorite characters!

The crème de la crème…within this epilog-ish style novella, there is an epilog and it will have your heart swelling out of your chest and happy tears welling in your eyes! Thank you, Emma Chase for a truly unforgettable happily ever after! If you’re a fan of the Legal Briefs series Sidebarred is absolute must read!

This by far is my favorite novella of 2016 and I can’t imagine anything that could top it unless of course, it’s another one written by Emma Chase! I’m sad to see this series come to a close but I can’t wait to see what this amazing author has in store for us next!

About the narration…

Sebastian York is a listener’s dream narrator and he never fails to capture the sentiment of the story and the personalities of the characters. His rich sensual voice has a dreamy like quality and exudes what we expect a sexy male lead character to sound like, but he also gives a great voice to female characters and children. He doesn’t try to imitate them but rather softens his tone or raises it slightly to portray the various characters throughout. He also changes his voice just enough to distinguish one male character from the other, in this case, Jake, Stanton and Brent. While there is no doubt this is an excellent read, Sebastian York takes it to another level with his brilliant narration!

About the story...
This book requires a particular taste that's for sure. I thought it was deliciously dirty and found myself in bouts of laughter. Yeah, at times it was a bit much, but to be fair to the author she gives readers a warning. You need a warped sense of humor and not take offense to foul language, fortunately for me I met all the criteria. I wished the author had backed off the sex just a teeny bit and focused a little more on the story, but then again sex is what got them into the mess they were in. Although, after the intial shock wore off, Claire accepted all of it, didn't consider it a mess, more a blessing, and was a wonderful mother. She might not have said as much, but her actions and love for her son were quite evident. And, when Carter came into the picture he was a wonderful partner for her and a willing, loving father for Gavin!

Smexy fun aside, this is a wonderful read about the sacrifices we make when that unexpected surprise, that keeps on giving for 18+ years, comes into our lives. I'm definitely on board for the next book!

About the audiobook...
Romy Nordlinger did a fantastic job with the narration...top notch voicing. But, listener beware, you might want to stay within the confines of your home when you turn this one on. Not the type of read you want to be plugged into out in public because it will turn you on, and you'll find yourself being hauled off in straight jacket when you randomly burst out laughing! Wear a sign around your neck stating that you're listening to an audio book

About the story...

A straightforward read, very little angst, with a heavy focus on the relationship...which was as always, deliciously sweet!

Cardeno C. does an amazing job when it comes to characters developing a friendship first, then building on that as they search for something more. It's a trademark aspect in many of this author's books, and something I really enjoy and look forward too. You get to know them first, understand their frame of mind before they deepen their bond and become intimate...an then it's always so loving and tender. Such is the relationship that develops between Jeremy and Reg

It was a delightful read, and as with all of Cardeno C's books, the sweet bubbles to the top and leaves the reader with a satisfying glow and a happily-ever-after smile!

About the audio book...

This was my first listen by Charlie David and I found his narration to be as smooth as silk. His tone was easy on the ears, he created distinguishable fitting voices for each of the characters, and transitioned nicely from one to the next. The narrator also understood Jeremy and Reg's personalities, brought the needed emotions into their voices at the right time, captured the essence of the story and made this a very pleasant listen. I'll definitely be looking for more of his work

Loved the rock song intro in the beginning, and then the brief musical interludes between chapters, however I wish it would have only played once, it wasn't necessary for it to fade in and out twice. That's my only complaint.

4.5 Stars! A deeply touching emotional story!

In a nutshell, this story centers around how much of yourself your willing to give to protect, shelter, and save those you love. Brewster "Bruiser", the main male protagonist, has a unique ability, or rather abilities, which I won't touch on so I don't ruin the story for potential readers. Keep in mind, nothing, nothing at all is at it seems. The paranormal element worked, it was different, a little strange at first, but once you understand what's happening, it all makes sense. At times it's painful to read about, and my heart hurt for Brewster...so, so much!

Brontë was lovely character, she was kind, compassionate and non-judgmental. She was also strong, determined and I adored her. She didn't let rumors and misconceptions sway her feelings, she saw past what everyone else thought they knew to be true, and was able to see the awesomeness that was a boy named Brewster! If there were only more people like her in this world.

Brontë and Brewster's siblings, Tennyson and Cody learn a valuable lesson, they were initially quite selfish, but both of them come around when they realize how much Brewster is giving of himself.

I had no idea how much this story would affect me, and I was praying for a good outcome...for everyone...well, almost everyone!

Sometimes when you give of yourself there are those willing to give back, even if it means they won't be the same, but it will make you whole again. A poignant message in this beautiful book, and I think about these characters and this story quite often. It definitely left its mark on me.

I was relieved and satisfied with the ending, but an epilogue would put my heart in a little better place. I'd love to get back into the lives of these characters someday.

About the audiobook...

Brilliantly narrated by a collective group of talented voices: Nick Podehl, Kate Rudd, Luke Daniels and Laura Hamilton! There is no doubt the author, Neal Shusterman, wrote a beautiful story, but the combined efforts of these individuals brought it to another level. I'm not always a fan of multiple narrators for one book, but this flowed incredibly well and each of them captured the essence of the characters they voiced!
