When struggling waitress Melody Dylan gives a handsome, lonely stranger a simple gift, she has no clue her life is about to take a drastic turn.

The stranger ends up being Clay Powers, a famous UFC heavyweight fighter. Clay's large build and dangerous fists have always intimidated. People in his hometown keep their distance and Clay is fine with that. Everything changes when a new waitress at the local diner buys him a piece of pie on Thanksgiving. Touched by the gesture when it's obvious she can barely afford to survive, her warm smile and lush body churn up powerful feelings that leave Clay wanting more from her than pie.

Melody is running from her past and the small, country town of Garnet is the perfect hiding place. With an ex-husband after her and scars from her abusive marriage etched deep, the last thing she expects is to fall for a man who makes a living with his fists, but she can't resist Clay or the tender connection they share.

Finding love in the most unlikely of places, the passion is undeniable, but Clay and Melody know their haunted pasts and unpredictable futures leave the odds stacked against them.

Love this story but I don’t 100% love the narrator.it was a good job but the story warrants a duel narration .it was still a really enjoyable listen.

Great story, good narration. This was well written. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and plot. It was steamy, sweet and some excitement. I hope for more audio books in this series. Highly recommend.

I like everything about this audible book, but especially the narration. not many performers can do multiple voices and make it work, Elizabeth Munro does, her voices fit the characters well. This is not a fast paced, suspense novel. it's all about Clay and Melody, two somewhat troubled ( normal!) people who find their match with each other. I have listened to their story over and over, and enjoy it every time.

Don't waste your money on this book. There is plenty of foul language and the sex scenes are not very good. And I didn't feel like the characters were very well developed. Maybe it is a better book to read instead of listen to

A favorite read brought to life by the talented Elizabeth Munro. I'm always a little hesitant when books I love are given a voice but the narrator did a wonderful job portraying the characters and allowing the listener to get lost in this sweet romance. I can't wait for the next one in the series!

I really enjoyed this story the characters were fabulous She was honest worked hard tried to get ahead in life. He was tough but sweet all at the same time the sex was good and put in at the right places. I would definitely read this story again and recommend it to my friends
