Would you listen to Sidebarred again? Why?

Yes. It was a fantastic listen. I loved Jake and Chelsea's first book and this one was just as good.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved finding out what happened to Chelsea and Jake after their first book. It was nice seeing the kids again 4 years after they fell in love.

What about Sebastian York’s performance did you like?

In a word, everything. The man has a fantastic voice, perfect for the Alpha Male.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was.

I loved finding out what happened after book one. The book picks up 4 years after their book ended. We find out how Jake and Chelseas marriage of 2 years is progressing. We catch up on all the kids progress as the adjust to living with their Aunt Chelsea and Jake. The book concludes 17 years later (a total of 21 years from the end of their last book). The kids are all grown and we are told what has become of each and every one. It was a very satisfying conclusion to an epic love story! Wonderful!

Hands down...this was the best novella I have ever, ever read. It's short...and yes, it follows on as an added bonus to the original story, but OMG, it was so well done. The audiobook was just over 2 hours, but it felt like a book that had 10 hours worth of build up because this is a thorough complete story...and OMG, did I mention just how good it was?

This is the followup to Sustained (which coincidentally was also an A+ rated book)...you can find that review HERE. This book was the perfect follow-up to that great book. It continued the story of Jake and Chelsea and gave glimpses of all six kids as they face a new transition in their lives. The novella covers a full year and was so full of epic greatness. If you loved their first book, you HAVE TO READ THIS ONE TOO. If you haven't read Sustained, I highly recommend you go grab it now and devour it...and then read this one. The entire series is fabulous, but all the books work as stand-alones from the original full-length novels. For this one, do yourself a favor and read Sustained first. You won't regret it.

Note: I love Sebastion York as a narrator and discovered this book when I was searching audible for his narrations. This book is told entirely from Jackson's POV (another huge bonus) and Sebastion York rocked it. There are six kids in this story and he rocks all the different voices and inflections!!

Sebastian York’s voice just does something to me. Couple that with this great story and conclusion to the Legal Briefs series and you have the perfect setting for a great escape.

I loved this series! Emma Chase is 1 of my favorites; she writes with all the feels... And my goodness, is there anything Sebastian couldn't read that I wouldn't get lost in 💞

This book was funny, sweet, heartwarming & with with plenty of steam...Sustained was my favorite in the Legal Briefs series so when EC put out a novella about the McQuaid/Becker crew it was a no brainier. There is nothing to regret in this purchase. I want to invite this family over for Thanksgiving! Okay, so for those who want the facts... No cliff hanger, yes you get to see and hear about the rest of the gang from previous LB books, there is a fun look into the future with the epilogue that covers many of the characters from the other LB books. Oh and of course you can never go wrong with Sebastian York as narrator!

This is why I listen to audio books - sigh ❤️

The story is one that connects with every parent everywhere, but that is where the similarity to the everyday ends! It's sexy, witty, and totally non-putable-down!

Chase-York combo is well worth my developing hearing problems!

This is the last installment in the Legal Briefs series. I think she wrote this because Chase's fans hunted her down and made her tell everyone what happened. This she does in a short, but very impactful manner. If you read the series, there is no way you can not listen the this. I found this small work to be humorous, sentimental, and up lifting. Do yourself a favor and listen to it.

Emma always hits the mark with her novels. She is one of my favorites and this is a wonderful story. Sebastian alway delivers her stories with the the success Emma’s stories deserve. Always a special delight to listen to these two- can’t go wrong.

Sidebarred is the perfect ending to The Legal Briefs series! Dive back into the lives of the couple that started it all, and fall in love with the series all over again. I adored every moment and feel complete closure now. If you wondered where all of the kids ended up, this will answer everything and leave you with a huge smile (and maybe a few happy tears if you're like me!)

The perfect way to wrap up the series!
