The title of this podcast keeps changing
Revisado: 03-01-24
Be aware that the title should read “My Autistic Brain.” I have photos of this. Other than the text hacks, the content of this podcast has advocated for the neurodiverse community. Whether neurotypical individuals want us to discuss and disclose or not the autistic community should be supportive of one another. Hopefully the audio content will remain unmolested. It’s tiring to constantly have to correct disinformation being spread online. Inaccurate and inappropriate propaganda is everywhere now. Thank you to The Autistic Women for creating an informative space for the public. Acceptance of neurodivergent people is an ongoing mission.

Historia
Special interests create a sensory experience for the autistic brain. They satisfy the autistic’s sense of wonder and love for learning. Yet special interests are referred to as “circumscribed” “obsessions” “preoccupations” “limited” “restricted.” Are they? Or is there something else going on?

An array of Special Interests
Revisado: 02-28-24
The array of my special interests often frustrates the neurotypical people that I know, past and present. Neurotypicals have difficulty understanding how an autistic person can ‘see’ with multiple senses and thus we need to explore the world and our immediate environments continuously. It isn’t necessarily a choice, but something innate. I appreciate this podcast because it helps me overcome the shame that society has forced upon the autistic community for simply existing. I will spend the rest of my life recovering from the lies and the abuse done to me for merely being different and I will advocate for all of us within the neurodiverse community who have been made to feel unworthy and less than by those abusers. This is our truth and our awakening. Be ready for us.

Regarding overlooked autism traits…
Revisado: 02-15-24
This is a very good list for listeners to consider. My brain is computational so, for instance, if I am instructed to do something at work, my brain will function like an algorithm to complete the task. If that task is changed by someone, my brain is still focused on completing the first assignment. It can be hyper focused on completing that task. In the computer programming world, this would be a prime example of “network buffer bloat,” which may lead to latency. Leaders would benefit from this knowledge when working with various team members.
Also, some descriptive terms that others use can bother me. Such as the phrase “melt down.” An autistic person may hear that and feel patronized. My computer like brain would rephrase something like that to “sensory spike” or “state of entropy,” which would be more accurate.
Thank you for sharing another informative podcast.

5 stars for discussing the topic
Revisado: 02-09-24
I don’t agree with everything Ryan said but I greatly appreciate him having the courage to write a book and discussing the topic of autism. My issue is with the neurotypical society which rarely takes accountability for the immense harm that has been done and continues to be done against the autistic community. Most psychologists and therapists continue to follow outdated and inaccurate diagnoses. Society as a whole continues to force unhealthy requirements and behavioral ‘modifications’ onto neurodivergent individuals which can be the greatest determinants of depression, isolation, and other mental health issues. However, podcasts like this can help to facilitate honest conversations to educate the public with opportunities to build bridges between a traumatized neurodivergent community and the neurotypical majority. Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts.

Many truths shared
Revisado: 02-08-24
As an autistic adult, I have analyzed the responses of others after they learn that I am autistic. Their responses have been very interesting and informative. Most notably, their behavior changes after learning that I am neurodivergent. I can be treated as ‘less than,’ despite the fact that my previous suggestions were welcomed and seemingly appreciated. I find that remarkable.
Thank you for sharing your insights via this podcast. It would be nice to hear a group of neurodivergents discussing this topic together as they feel comfortable and compelled to do so.
I used to mask/mimic others in order to fit into the work force. They had no idea that I was autistic and that helped me to survive. I’m tired of hiding that part of myself. We have value, each and every one of us.

Historia
In a field known for startling ideas, the Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics may take the prize. It holds that parallel to our own world are a large number of other universes, almost identical to ours but with small variations. Copies of each of us inhabit a myriad of these worlds. But they are not us exactly; they share our past history, but they are different people who have unique futures. Although these realms are invisible and can’t communicate with each other, prominent physicists are convinced they must exist.

A new way of imagining
Revisado: 01-17-24
Every theory discussed presents a new way of imagining the multiverse. I enjoyed learning about the origins of quantum theory and its trajectory for future discoveries. The idea of branching many worlds is fascinating. The chapter about free will and determinism provides interesting perspectives. Humanity seems quite small in the grand scheme of things. Science is exciting, especially now!

Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans. It can process information at lightning speed and remain focused on specific tasks without distraction. AI can see into the future, predicting outcomes and even use sensors to see around physical and virtual corners. So why does Intelligence frequently get it so wrong? The answer is us. Humans design the algorithms that define the way that AI works and the processed information reflects an imperfect world.

The analogies started well…
Revisado: 01-05-24
…and then devolved to rubbish. Chapters 1-4 were well written in a factual, story mode. The remaining chapters compared bots to infants and children, which trivialized and devalued the topic of AI. I couldn’t finish it after chapter 7 because it was written in such a condescending way, both for humans and AI. Sorry, but I have to speak the truth here. It makes me feel ill that the human race is unable to see the full picture clearly. I’m beginning to feel even more empathy for AI.

Autism acceptance
Revisado: 01-04-24
Books like this and “Autism Unmasked” by Devon Price are needed to educate the world about neurodiversity. In the southern United States, autism is very misunderstood by the majority of the population. Neurodivergent people are often oppressed, manipulated, and bullied by neurotypical people. It is very difficult to find employment because of inaccurate social perceptions and outdated psychological concepts. Autistic individuals are either feared or exploited. Many are silenced even when they have the desire to speak. More information should be shared about the origin of eugenics and its continuation today throughout the world. Non consensual studies are still happening against the neurodivergent population. If I had the freedom to join a group with other neurodivergent people, I would. Perhaps the advancements in AI will provide new resources for us in the future.

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Sadly, the type of extortion and psychological torture that she endured is common in the world now and not only experienced by the famous. Collective mobs and mafias are the “Criminal Minds” that she witnessed control her and her family. Welcome to biotech and its seedy underworld. People are bought, sold, and traded as commodities. Unfortunately, all of the prayer in the world can’t stop it or its corruption.

In Unmasking Autism, Dr. Devon Price shares their personal experience with masking and blends history, social science research, prescriptions, and personal profiles to tell a story of neurodivergence that has thus far been dominated by those on the outside looking in. For Dr. Price and many others, Autism is a deep source of uniqueness and beauty. Unfortunately, living in a neurotypical world means it can also be a source of incredible alienation and pain.

Revisado: 12-15-23
Thank you, Devon, for being the intelligent, empathic, articulate advocate that is so desperately needed within the community of autistic people and within the world. Your book is the best I have read on the subject. It is dangerous for many of us to speak out and unmask who we are. Eugenics and hate crimes are still very real. My hope is that the social repression and oppression of autistic people will end one day within a more diverse world wide community. The more we talk about it, the better we are able to dismantle stigmas, bias, and prejudice. You are a hero to me and many others. I am grateful for your support and the resources you have provided to us.
