Regarding overlooked autism traits…
This is a very good list for listeners to consider. My brain is computational so, for instance, if I am instructed to do something at work, my brain will function like an algorithm to complete the task. If that task is changed by someone, my brain is still focused on completing the first assignment. It can be hyper focused on completing that task. In the computer programming world, this would be a prime example of “network buffer bloat,” which may lead to latency. Leaders would benefit from this knowledge when working with various team members.
Also, some descriptive terms that others use can bother me. Such as the phrase “melt down.” An autistic person may hear that and feel patronized. My computer like brain would rephrase something like that to “sensory spike” or “state of entropy,” which would be more accurate.
