Historia
At its simplest, Bayes’s theorem describes the probability of an event, based on prior knowledge of conditions that might be related to the event. But in Everything Is Predictable, Tom Chivers lays out how it affects every aspect of our lives. He explains why highly accurate screening tests can lead to false positives and how a failure to account for it in court has put innocent people in jail. A cornerstone of rational thought, many argue that Bayes’s theorem is a description of almost everything. But who was the man who lent his name to this theorem?

Great explanations of apply Bayesian logic

The author makes Bayesian statistics comprehensible and then goes on to real world applications and some history as to how classical statistics sometimes yields bad science. Great listen.

There's not much here if you're looking for specific solutions to business problems. Lots of examples of large businesses using AI but not small businesses. Just general advice.

Historia
Something new entered our world in November 2022—the first general purpose AI that could pass for a human and do the kinds of creative, innovative work that only humans could do previously. Wharton professor Ethan Mollick immediately understood what ChatGPT meant: after millions of years on our own, humans had developed a kind of co-intelligence that could augment, or even replace, human thinking. Through his writing, speaking, and teaching, Mollick has become one of the most prominent and provocative explainers of AI.

Historia
If there's one lesson Oren Klaff has learned over decades of pitching, presenting, and closing long-shot, high-stakes deals, it's that people are sick of being marketed and sold to. Most of all, they hate being told what to think. The more you push them, the more they resist. What people love, however, is coming up with a great idea on their own, even if it's the idea you were guiding them to have all along. Often, the only way to get someone to sign is to make them feel like they're smarter than you.

Written for a world that doesn't exist
Revisado: 05-29-19
This may not be the stupidest book I have ever listened to, but it's in the top five. It's written to manage a work force that doesn't exist and never will. The author misunderstands the variation in the quality of our workforce, believing that "nurturing" employees is the entire answer. The sun will burn out long before that nurturing is effective in transforming our workforce. Working a blue collar job for a year would cure him. He vastly undervalues good systems and processes.

Enjoyable listen but I have doubts
Revisado: 10-17-17
This is a worthwhile listen. The author makes a great case for ridding the world of annual performance reviews. However, the author assumes implicitly that you are working with above average, reasonable employees. I don't think his prescription works with the garden variety slackers, who always have an excuse for being late or not getting work done.
