Energising
Revisado: 08-16-22
This podcast is very energising. It will make you want to run away from your smartphone just to get away from the sound of these vapid Karens and Beckys talking about themselves with every third word being “like”. This podcast won’t add any value to your life - it’s just common gender stereotypes reinforced ie stories of passive women who don’t communicate their needs directly with words like adults, and men are expected to be Houdini mind readers and “pursue” women.

Historia
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is one of the most popular - and most effective - treatments for mental health conditions that result from out-of-control emotions. DBT for Dummies shows how DBT can teach new ways not just to reverse but to actively take control of self-destructive behaviors and negative thought patterns, allowing you to transform a life of struggle into one full of promise and meaning.

Voice difficult to listen to
Revisado: 03-09-22
The material is excellent. But the narrator’s voice is the most difficult for me to listen to in my Audible library of hundreds of books.

Historia
Figuring out how to deal with today's critical economic problems is perhaps the great challenge of our time. Much greater than space travel, what is at stake is the whole idea of the good life as we have known it. Immigration and inequality, globalisation and technological disruption, slowing growth and accelerating climate change - these are sources of great anxiety across the world. The resources to address these challenges are there - what we lack are ideas that will help us jump the wall of disagreement and distrust that divides us.

Fantastic book

So great learning more about evidence-based approaches to challenges our societies face, rather than the hunches and populist policies many politicians implement. The authors are incredible Nobel Prize winners in economics.

Historia
In Indistractable, Eyal reveals the hidden psychology driving us to distraction. He describes why solving the problem is not as simple as swearing off our devices: Abstinence is impractical and often makes us want more. Eyal lays bare the secret of finally doing what you say you will do with a four-step, research-backed model. Indistractable reveals the key to getting the best out of technology, without letting it get the best of us.

Best book of the past 5 years
Revisado: 08-14-19
This book is absolutely excellent.
Basically if you read this book and apply even just a third of what is recommended you’ll be more productive than 90% of the population. The amazing thing is, I find myself feeling much more relaxed now that I’m cranking out good work consistently.
This is a great work and if you apply what you learn it’ll pay for itself in about half an hour, after that it’s all compounding profit!!!
Don’t hesitate! But this great book.
If you want to thrive in the information economy there are three books that will put you in the top 5%:
The Second Machine Age - about the knowledge work economy
Deep Work - the strategy (and tactics) on how to work productively
Indistractable - the tactical steps you need to take to maximise your productivity (covers both how to produce (traction), and how to minimise resistance (distraction - internal and external)).

Historia
One hundred thousand years ago, at least six human species inhabited the Earth. Today there is just one. Us. Homo sapiens. How did our species succeed in the battle for dominance? Why did our foraging ancestors come together to create cities and kingdoms? How did we come to believe in gods, nations, and human rights; to trust money, books, and laws; and to be enslaved by bureaucracy, timetables, and consumerism?
