Pleasant plot, nice romance, no overdone sex scenes, library references all through out were fun and welcomed especially at this time in history. I will look for more by this author, thank you for a sweet listen!

Just what I needed, laughing to tears and one very touching Mom/family chapter. Just ended too soon. Going in my all time Ds favorite’s and buying it for gifts to share. Can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

Very nice relationships, lovely family and friends support. Inclusive to multi racial but could have been more. Don’t need the sex scenes as explicit.

I really like this one, one ultra funny scene I plan on sharing. Lots of great characters and family scenes funny and caring, little bit of intimacy thrown in but not too much. Good narritor and easy to follow between characters.

Super bad sex scene

Bizarre plot I thought was too much of a stretch but story/characters were enough to keep me listening. Rating would maybe have been a 3 but for the terrible sex scene I listened to,.. I skipped thru the couple others. Good thing they were towards the end or would have quit the story altogether. If you wait that long into a story it’s not really a sex book. Than why do such blunt and overly raunchy sex scenes! Could have kept with the light theme, done some nice foreplay and left the rest to imagination. But the jump was from sweet to ‘put 3 fingers in me’ was so unnecessary, didn’t seem to fit the story or the characters & it was not erotic just gross.

The brutal honesty

I loved this sad story. The inclusion of true historical events or themes. The expression of the traumas effects on the lives of the children made to go to far away “schools” and how it carried down the generations, still. The brutel theft & loss of their beings, culture and security.
Sad sad truth of it breaks my heart over and over again but I still can’t wait to share this novel with my friends and family. Thank you for sharing your families experiences, telling some of the true histories Indigenous peoples endured, and showing the humanity they carried (or tried to carry) with them thru their lives. And for including our languages, languages that are in jeopardy of being lost forever along with our cultures that were taken from us. Pinamaya 🪶🪶🦅🪶🪶
