Turning 30 has its ups and downs.

For Callie Grey, coming to grips with her age means facing the fact that her boyfriend-slash-boss is way overdue with a marriage proposal. And that she's way off track, because Mark has suddenly announced his engagement to the company's new Miss Perfect. If that isn't bad enough, her mom decides to throw her a Big Three-Oh birthday bash - in the family funeral home.

Bad goes to worse when Callie stirs up a relationship with the town's single - yet not so warm and fuzzy - veterinarian in order to flag Mark's attention. So what if Ian McFarland is more comfortable with animals? So what if he's formal, orderly and just a bit tense?

Friendly, fun-loving and spontaneous Callie decides it's time for Ian to get a personality makeover. But dang - if he doesn't shock the heck out of her, she might actually fall for Georgebury, Vermont's unlikeliest eligible bachelor....

Another good story by Kristan as usual about 2 different men and 1 woman with her cute dog. Interesting family made the story. Men were frustrating with their crazy decisions. It was heartwarming , frustrating, laughable at times. F bomb too many times.

Best Kristin Higgins Ever!

... none of this was researched AT ALL. I mean the embalmer "forgot to take off his gloves before going to a restaurant" uhg no.
But as a woman, I related and loved the main character. Higgins has a cute humor that makes me laugh out loud. This may have been one of my favorites by her. I mean, the dogs name was Bowie.

This was an enjoyable read/listen.

The two main leads had their quirks which at times were annoying, but for the most part hilarious.

The other couple, Mark and Muriel were.....interesting and very needed for the main leads relationship to progress as well as it did.

The Michelle Obama and Betty Book comments were funny though the mentiona of the 1st lady so many times got old really, really fast.

The Green Mountain crew were good side characters, each with their own unique addition of charm to the story.

Nicely written, breezy romance. Diverting for days or nights when you'd like something with lively characters, a good plot line, and nothing gloomy.

Yet another fantastic book by Kristen with XE sands and her amazing narration. This story was a definite tearjerker but filled my heart with so much love. Absolutely love the addition of the puppy in the story. And having a veterinarian. I could just see the husky talking to Calliope.

Great story from Kristin Higgins. Xe Sands is a wonderful narrator, she is in my top 3.

The story was good, there were times were I was laughing out loud or I was tearing up. I didn't really like the FL coz she felt too desperate for me.. but what made me like this story is Noah (grandpa) because of his smart mouth. I enjoyed Noah's interaction with the FL more than the interaction between the FL and ML.
