Historia
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

Great history in general plus the making and use of alcohol drinking.

I loved the odd details and history. The brands, methods, the growth of the uses of drinking. International issues, restrictions within our country, taxation and bootlegging. It was a wild intriguing story😊👍🏻

Historia
"Must I die?" asked Gilgamesh. Forty five centuries later, we're still asking the same question. Science writer Paul Bracken embarks on a lighthearted assessment of the human condition, to explore what it means to be mortal, and what our fate may be. This scientific reimagining of the ancient Gilgamesh quest delves into a multitude of topics including the origin of life, the workings of the human mind, and the possibilities for life prolongation. The ancient Gilgamesh was so distraught at the death of his friend Enkidu, and so sickened by the knowledge that he too would die, that he ...

I overcame immediately the concern of the narration AI. Crisp and clear with an emotional tone
The story was well crafted with past, present and future possibilities yet to arrive. A bit of soft judgement of uncertainty and unexpected consequences.

Historia
Secret Service agent Clint Hill brings history intimately and vividly to life as he reflects on his 17 years protecting the most powerful office in the nation. Hill walked alongside Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, and Gerald R. Ford, seeing them through a long, tumultuous era - the Cold War; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy; the Vietnam War; Watergate; and the resignations of Spiro Agnew and Richard M. Nixon.

His professional behavior throughout without any disrespect or disrespect towards anyone. The dedication in his heart and the only burden was events out of his control. Certainly an enormous burden and sacrifice for his family and personal life, health and himself. Honor comes at a price.

Historia
After standing at Donald Trump’s side on Election Night, Cliff Sims joined him in the West Wing as special assistant to the president and director of White House message strategy. He soon found himself pulled into the president’s inner circle as a confidante, an errand boy, an advisor, a punching bag, and a friend. This is the story of what it was really like in the West Wing as a member of the president’s team. It's a story of power and palace intrigue, backstabbing and bold victories, as well as painful moral compromises, occasionally with yourself.

Using step by step instructions, the author illustrates how to be fully present in the moment without clinging to joy or resisting sorrow. This opens the door to a kind of wellness that goes beyond circumstances. Actively engaging life as it is in this fashion holds the potential for awakening to a peace and well-being that are not dependent on whether a particular experience is joyful or sorrowful.

Great narration, soft, clear and inspiring use of words. The story is about innermost self awareness and choices of “pause” to decide which choice could give the ultimate outcome. It helps emphasize self empowering of control over emotional takeover as an old habit. It helps create the power to pause and choose with good comparisons and examples, Paradigm shifting,

Of all the bits of history we think we know, it really takes a deeper dive to ‘find the rest of the story’. This is one of those, right here. It is really a part of unrecognized aspects that got missed on many levels. Thanks so much for filling in so much in an important way.

Historia
Does America no longer feel like home? Widespread divorce rates, the erosion of traditional marriage, the popular rise of radical ideologies, attacks on faith, and government interference are only a few of the factors contributing to the struggles of families in our culture. But it doesn't have to be this way. Like many of us, Dr. Ben Carson fears we are losing the country we love. In this provocative and ultimately hopeful book, he gives us the facts, inspiration, and theory-to-action answers we need to restore a key foundation of America: the family.

Well his narration required a bit of speed to enjoy it better. The message was heartfelt, real and on target toward building a better nation. Health, Education and Human Resources would be a great position.
Military, defense and international security may be a stretch . However a cabinet level advisor might be a wise choice for such an outstanding option here.

Empire of the Summer Moon spans two astonishing stories. The first traces the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful Indian tribe in American history. The second entails one of the most remarkable narratives ever to come out of the Old West: the epic saga of the pioneer woman Cynthia Ann Parker and her mixed-blood son, Quanah, who became the last and greatest chief of the Comanches.

The history of the First Nation peoples was heartfelt. It was collision of cultures, language, greed and perverse manifest destiny. The problem still persists.

Historia
During the 20th century, America managed to make its economic and social systems both more and more fair and more and more prosperous. A huge, secure, and contented middle class emerged. All boats rose together. But then the New Deal gave way to the Raw Deal. Beginning in the early 1970s, by means of a long war conceived of and executed by a confederacy of big business CEOs, the superrich, and right-wing zealots, the rules and norms that made the American middle class possible were undermined and dismantled.

The history, time line, and interaction of people involved along was fascinating. Projections, decision processes, conflicts and backstories were followed up with outcomes. Some interesting intended outcomes were offset both positive and negative outcomes, that were unintended.
