Love!!!!
Revisado: 05-14-22
Funny, quirky and (to some degree) relatable. I fell in love with each widow and hated each widow in kind. The plot “twist” was very easy to figure out but that didn’t matter. I actually liked the journey even though I figured out the destination. Very enjoyable experience all the way around.

I liked the book a lot. The narration was great and the excitement built. Even if you kind of knew what was going to happen. If you like the genre give it a shot!

Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.

Didn’t skip a second
Revisado: 05-30-21
There are many books that require you to hit that “+30 second” button here and there. I can like a book even if I feel it needs a quick skip occasionally. Then there are the fluff books that require more skips than others.
This is not a skip book. There wasn’t any fluff that I didn’t feel was helpful to setting the scene or character. The narrator wasn’t annoying or over the top. The story was great (if not a tiny bit predictable). So... when my mom and I discuss whether we like a book, the ultimate praise is “didn’t skip a second”. This book is one of those. I’m not going to write in my review what you can read in the book details. (To me that’s review fluff). I’m just going to tell you that for a mystery lover, this is a good.... very good.... book.

Historia
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal - or all three. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible - plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood.

I’m in love with Archer!!! If Mr Baldacci is reading this, please, sir, keep Archer and Liberty alive! What an awesome story. No drawn out fluff, no boring love scenes... just a great mystery. Even though we all know early who the bad guy is... I loved the journey.

Not exactly sure what it is about this story. However, I couldn’t put it down. This author pulled me in and wouldn’t let go. The “fluff” was minimal and the story wasn’t anything new.... but it was great! Great read.

Historia
Getting snowed in at a luxurious, rustic ski chalet high in the French Alps doesn’t sound like the worst problem in the world. Especially when there’s a breathtaking vista, a full-service chef and housekeeper, a cozy fire to keep you warm, and others to keep you company. Unless that company happens to be eight coworkers…each with something to gain, something to lose, and something to hide.

Historia
During the languid days of the Christmas break, a group of 30-something friends from Oxford meets to welcome in the New Year together, a tradition they began as students 10 years ago. For this vacation, they’ve chosen an idyllic and isolated estate in the Scottish Highlands - the perfect place to get away and unwind by themselves. They arrive on December 30, just before a historic blizzard seals the lodge off from the outside world. Two days later, on New Year’s Day, one of them is dead.

Hard to explain just how good....
Revisado: 09-08-20
This book reminds me of Agatha Christie “And then there were none”. And, for the record, is a huge compliment. This book had me on the edge of my seat from cover to cover. What made it even better was listening to it. (Versus reading it). The different voices simply made this book an experience instead of just a story. I really wish I could give it more stars. Because...5 doesn’t seem to be enough. (In my personal opinion). Going to spend another credit on another Lucy Foley book. I am a new fan!!!!

Historia
When best-selling mystery writer David Rosenfelt and his family moved from Southern California to Maine, he thought he had prepared for everything. They had mapped the route, brought three GPSs for backup, as well as refrigerators full of food, and stoves and microwaves on which to cook them. But traveling with 25 dogs turned out to be a bigger ordeal than he anticipated, despite RVs, the extra kibble, volunteers (including a few readers), and camping equipment.

Revisado: 06-10-20
Is when David promises to never kill off Tara. Honestly, though, you will enjoy this listen if:
1. You like the Andy series
2. You like dogs.
3. You are in the mood for something “light”.
I liked it! It’s no “Andy”.... but you can tell it’s Andy’s alter ego.

I get so happy when a great book pairs with an awesome narrator. Mr. Wilson could not have picked a better voice to play all the parts Marin Ireland played. The book was the perfect mix of funny and “feels”. I didn’t want the book to end. Please write a part 2 so I can follow Bessie and Roland in college. Pretty Please???

A true page turner
Revisado: 08-02-19
I'm not a real fan of the horror genre as a whole. I don't enjoy blood and gore of any type. I guess I get nightmares very easy. So, I guess its no surprise that I have avoided King novels. Just recently, however, I found and read Mr. Mercedes and loved it. (I subsequently then read Dr Sleep, Revival, Finders Keepers, etc) I took a psychological break and hit legal thrillers and goofy Andy Carpenter novels. (Thanks, David Rosenfelt). I decided to look, then at some older King and "Bachman" stories. This book did not disappoint!! I seriously thought there HAD to be a million sub plots because how could you fill almost 11 hours with a bunch of boys walking. Not only did he do that...he did it so well that I didn't want to miss a single step the boys took. He doesn't dive into each boys back story or make it a family history of each of them. In fact, you don't learn a whole lot about anyone. You fall in love with some of them all the same. How does he do that??? Amazing, Mr. King (or Bachman), simply amazing. Not a boring moment and I have now purchased the Running Man and will dive into other older King masterpieces. The narration was perfect for the story. I know that a book can be great but if you can't stand the narrator you are lost. No worries there. Kirby Heyborne did an outstanding job. I will say the ending left me
