Publisher's summary

He's not a douchebag; but that doesn't stop his friends from turning him into one.

My friends want me to get laid.

So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus in bold printed letters:

Are you the lucky lady who's going to break our roommate's cherry?

Him: Socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: Must have a pulse. He will reciprocate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551.

The morons can't even spell. And the texts I've been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I'm not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.

This isn't the kind of attention I want.

One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can't bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.

However, after seeing her in person, I know she's not the girl for me. But my friends won't let up - they just don't get it. Douchebags or not, there's one thing they'll never understand: Girls don't want me.

Especially her.

A great listen with an amazing story & characters

I absolutely loved The Learning Hours by Sara Ney, the third book in her How to Date a Douchebag series. I listened to the audio, narrated by Josh Goodman and Muffy Newton, who were spot on as narrators.

I literally had a smile on my face throughout the entire story. Though I have to mention there were some moments that tugged at my heart and made me a bit sad, I did smile through most of it. It was sweet, funny, charming and so much fun to see Rhett Rabideaux navigate through his relationship with Laurel.

Rhett is a junior transfer that was courted away from his current university to Iowa. He is a renowned wrestler and well known for his many victories. What he did not expect was how his teammates would react to him being on the team. He is the new guy after all. One of many pranks they play on him is plastering his face on flyers throughout the university stating he needs to get laid and fast, with his picture and number. The response is immediate and overwhelming. Annoyed he tells most of the responses to leave him alone (but not so nicely).

I loved Rhett. He was naïve and a bit innocent when it came to the opposite sex, but he was a good man with an even bigger heart. The problem? He was not the most handsome of guys and most girls could not see past his exterior. Rhett was used to it and usually just put his head down and concentrated on his studies and wrestling.

Laurel is dared by her cousin to respond to the flyer and she does. She is not really expecting anything but to have some fun at Rhett’s expense. But when he tells her off, she is offended and continues to reach out to him. As they text back and forth, they inadvertently get to know each other and Laurel see him for who he is before meeting him. But as the story continues, we begin to see Laurel grow and open herself up to Rhett.

So yeah, Laurel was not the nicest person at the start of the story, however, it was fun seeing her fall for the guy and not the looks. It was almost as if the tables were turned, because Rhett did not fall at her feet. She worked to get to know him and show him what he meant to her. And I just loved being able to see them become friends and have that grow to more. He was so clueless at times; it was just so entertaining, because she did not know what to do with him at times!

I have to say it again, I loved this story! It normally takes me about two weeks, give or take a day or two, to listen to an audiobook, as I do it too and from work, but this one I did in four days. I could not stop listening to it! I loved the story, the main characters and had a love-hate relationship with Rhett’s teammates. I am excited to go back and read the other two books in the series!

Absolutely Loved!!

I love audio books so much. I will listen to one while I’m cleaning or driving down the road. There is something about being able to listen to a good book that you didn’t want to stop reading. Sometimes after hearing the audio version I like it more than I did when I read it. With that being said I loved The Learning Hours when I read it but loved it more after hearing it.

Sara Ney has pulled me into this world with these characters that I like so much! These can be read as standalones but I highly recommend reading them all. They are so good! The narrators did a good job with this book and made me like the characters even more.

We are always so hard on ourselves and only see the worse. Thankfully others seem to see the best in us and that was the case with our hero in this story. He couldn’t understand why some gorgeous girl would be into him. The hero and heroine were absolutely perfect. This was a swoon worthy book that I couldn’t stop reading or listening too! I highly recommend the audio version or the book.

Hot! Funny! Sweet!

The audio really was done so well. The narrators added fun to already hilarious character interactions. They never sounded over the top or cheesy, and the humor was always on point. The French was spoken beautifully, as well. These voice actors WERE Rhett and Laurel. Together, individually, they brought Rhett and Laurel to life. I wish this had been a dual narration, though. Muffy’s narration overall was slightly better than Josh’s, but it was great nonetheless.

I was expecting to meet a douchebag in this book, but the hero was far from it. Rhett was adorable, sweet, and downright swoony. I felt terrible for him, and the way he’s treated by just about everyone. Because those around him focus on his lack of physical attractiveness, he too thinks poorly of himself and figures he doesn’t deserve the time of day from a girl. But fortunately, Laurel is no mere girl. She is sassy, wild, and blunt. She’s beautiful and she knows, yet she doesn’t act like a stuck up witch. I really liked these two characters, and I especially liked the unorthodox way they come together. They help each other grow, and step out of their comfort zones, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom.

Rhett’s teammates were insufferable. They made me so mad, and really ruined the reading/listening experience for me. I know they made the storyline possible, but I wanted to punch them in the face way too many times. They act so immaturely that it felt like they were high schoolers or college freshman. They more than made up for Rhett’s lack of douchey-ness.

Loved it!!!

I’m a huge fan of the How to Date a Douchbag series and the audio version of The Learning Hours blew me away! The dual point of view of this book is brilliant, Josh Goodman and Muffy Newman were bang on with these characters. The laugh out loud comedic lines were perfect and the passion and emotion of each of the characters was truly brought to life. Mix in the spectacular writing of Sara Ney and you have the perfect audiobook.
Rhett the southern gentleman was brought to life with his souther accent and french tongue, and Laurel with her Witty and spunky attitude truly make for an enjoyable listen and a very entertaining story. I loved listening to this book and I cannot wait to hear more in the future! A must listen!

Whoa! Not what I expected! 💜

So, I’m giving this a 5 star just because I have yet to read a book like this. A man who’s friends do everything to make him a douchbag!!! He’s different from the rest and because of that it changes how someone who at the beginning was a bit of a vain person themself. I like how he’s not a hot steamy good looking guy. Shows you that beauty runs deep! Loved it!!!

Yes, Please.

I just love this series, and this addition to the campus life of the Iowa wrestlers had me alternately giggling and fanning myself furiously. I could practically smell the testosterone oozing from my Kindle. Geez. These guys are just so much fun.

I loved the flipped reversal here, popular beautiful girl fall for the social awkward wrestler. Such a great story.

Flove Rhett!

This has become my favorite of the Douchebag series. Rhett is unavoidably lovable and his cluelessness makes him so much more so. His cute and clumsy (non) pursuit of the feisty red haired heroine makes anyone and everyone relate to the struggles of dating even if you are long past and out of the staring scene. The narration is spot on, and breathes life into these characters in a way that sucks you in. This entire series is epic for the simple fact that sometimes even douchebags are lovable to someone. Buy this book! You won't be disappointed.
